Looked good, he has promise and has the chance to be a good playerIn L1.
Nope. He’s undoubtedly good going forwards, but he’s primarily in the team as a defender and he’s not good enough, certainly to play in a back 4. Other teams target him as the weakest link in our defence and he costs us far too many goals. Our best period last season by far coincided with McCallum being in the team.Don't get the hate for Burrows. Not as good as last season, granted, but which player was other than O'Hare?
Last year in a 92 point season he got 6 goals and 6 assists.
This season in a tipsy turvy one, he still got 5 goals and 4 assists.
He should be our first choice in August. McCallum will have to fight his way back in when fully fit
But we were hardly fine defensively with McCallum either.Nope. Not going to challenge good data but the last part of your post chimes, is he a decent player not being played to his strengths? At Peterborough he was an attacking full back, not 100% but I'd imagine some plan to cover for him defensively. We don't seem to have such plans which makes his forays risky with no midfielder dropping back and dragging one of two CBs out of position. But we were hardly fine defensively with McCallum either.
He only started 16 games and we conceded 19 goals... 1.2 per game.
Burrows started 31 and we conceded 51... 1.6 per game.
This data is skewed as Burrows started the first 8 league games where we conceded 15 goals - that's 30% of Burrows conceded goals under Selles and 3 under Wilder.
Post game 8 and Burrows return is 1.3 per game conceded.
Compare to last seasons Burrows starts (43) and we only conceded 27. A ratio of 0.63 per game.
Is that down to Burrows/McCallum, or better Centre backs and a fully fit GK last year?
I haven't seen any hate for Burrows. Posters pointing out some of his qualities and some of his deficiencies. He's not as good a defender as Burrows in many people's opinion but probably better offensively. There's no hate.Don't get the hate for Burrows. I have eyes, and they tell me far more than statistics. He’s a poor defender at Championship level and I can’t see there can be much debate about that. Certainly no hate for the lad, but he shouldn’t be in the starting XI unless we’re playing with wing backs. But we were hardly fine defensively with McCallum either.

mate who is a Posh fan was really pleased for us. They really rate him and felt he would go on to great things. Maybe we need to get our side of the bargain right and play to his strengths a little more. Not going to challenge good data but the last part of your post chimes, is he a decent player not being played to his strengths? Bringing harmer in centrally & having a proper lw someone whos going to get back and help and is tenacious like brooks should help burrows and may balance us up a little better. We also may see more of an output from burrows if hes more confident to bomb forward knowing he will be covered/helped out.Biggest difference between seriki and burrows this season is that seriki had a hard working Brooks in front of him.
Burrows looks good going forward but is easily left 2 vs 1
I like him, but if we can replace him for less, might be worth selling him on.
Not sure who is paying a decent fee after last season. The only way we get good money for him is if he starts next season well and someone come in for him in January. As others have said hes better defensively than given credit for if hes got a left midfielder in front of him rather than Hamer.Bringing harmer in centrally & having a proper lw someone whos going to get back and help and is tenacious like brooks should help burrows and may balance us up a little better. In saying that, i agree if we can replace for less and get a decent fee then great (we also already have mcallum & currently RND, so may not even need to replace).
I think we’d get a really good fee from a club that plays with wing backs. He’s got some great attributes, just not suited to playing in a back 4 at our level. Not sure who is paying a decent fee after last season. Both our full backs are better suited as wing backs so if we r playing Seriki and Burrows we need to play 3 at the back with those 2 pushing on.
Granted hes a decent player going forward mate, but come on hes a fckg car crash at defending!Don't get the hate for Burrows. Not as good as last season, granted, but which player was other than O'Hare?

No he isn't. What a load of dramatic nonsense.Granted hes a decent player going forward mate, but come on hes a fckg car crash at defending!
Not dramatic pal, I can only comment on what ive seen, hes better playing more forward, than defending if you can't see that, like thousands have, then it you haven't watched all the games hes played last season. No he isn't. What a load of dramatic nonsense.
Excellent going forward. Not so good defensively, but a car crash he is not. Can guarantee if we sell him the replacement will be worse.
Short memories some of you lot. We've had left backs in the shape of Jay McEvely, Marcus Williams and Jordan Stewart and you think Harrison Burrows is a car crash.
You appear to be both saying the same thing using different words. Not dramatic pal, I can only comment on what ive seen, hes better playing more forward, than defending if you can't see that, like thousands have, then it you haven't watched all the games hes played last season.
No im playing all the right notes, not necessarily in the right orderYou appear to be both saying the same thing using different words.
Who is a perfectly competent left back and has had a season of playing regularly. Unsurprising that he was nowhere near the pace of the game when only thrown in for one or two games a season at centre back after coming back from a serious injurySmile....we have RND.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Wrexham come in for him as their LWB. Parkysaur would have wet dreams over Burrows left foot crossing one in for Keyf.I think we’d get a really good fee from a club that plays with wing backs.
