i have decided as a season ticket holder to make a prinicpled stance and hit the club where it hurts them most, and that is in the pocket and I have decided to have a one man boycott of the Bradford match as I'm at work that day and can't get the time off, so I thought it would be convienient for me to hold my boycott on that day, I do need a bit of help, I could do some solid, cast iron reasons for me to be holding my one man boycott, as I don't want to appear a bit silly. Can anyone help, and is there anyone else on here with previous experience of holding one man boycotts of Bramall Lane.

Kindest regards

Brownie

Don't do it. I held my own boycott at the Oldham game due to not agreeing to automatic charging of my credit card for a cup game ticket and having a prebooked city break and I came home having to face being a Blades outcast, reviled by those who attended. Hate mail hits my inbox every second, Rooks informs me someone has shit on my seat and there's a police car parked outside my home 24 hours a day.

It's no coincidence that Fjortofts Aeroplanes initials are FA. I've always thought Greg Dyke was a **** as well.

Interesting feedback, the consequences are well worth taking in to consideration.

However I do feel the need to gather further opinions, would you by any chance know of anyone else who has held a one man boycott, ideally someone who has held a one man boycott over a period of time.

My shifts decree that I may have to miss Peterborough at home which brings me in to the realm of a multi match boycott

There was one bloke who hasn't attended since the Millwall game. Or the game before. Or maybe the game after, he wasn't sure.

Bit of a dodgepot though so I wouldn't believe a word he said.

Sean, write a book darling, it appears you have an obsession.

Sorry Barney, I'm not gay. Keep looking though, there's someone out there for you.

I wasn't questioning your sexuality, rather your conspicuous knack of discussing me and my previous actions.

Brownie's not far off mind, this is the second thread he''s devoted to me.

If you're a season ticket holder m8,Mr McCabe has already got your dosh..,have a few beers, shout and sing your head off,Bradford are bringing a few so it should be a good atmosphere...

I held one match boycotts when we voted for the Premier League concept in the early 1990's and another when we were cosying up to Sepp Blatter as part of the World cup bid.

With time I am happy with the Blatter one but not sure about the PL one.

Edit..i know it should be fear really :)

I'm currently boycotting alcohol abstinence, as a result I'm regularly pissed and generally don't give a f-ck. It's working for me, it has been noticed by my nearest and dearest, but so far SUFC have ignored me, which is disappointing.

I applaud your boycott.

you don't need to make an overt 'boycott' brownie if you feel this way. simply don't make as much 'effort'.. if you can't get time off without a lot of trouble think fuck it i'm not going then

Hes incandescent with rage.

there is a lot of these posts about people losing their love of football kicking around and it seems to be the general consensus in general. the football authorities should be worried.. really worried.

If there are a few blades initiating " a one man boycott", is it still legit, knowing that others are doing it also. I'm not sure I would be comfortable doing " a one man boycott, but probably more" type thing.

It can't be a one man boycott if someone joins him so posting on here has took all the impact you were going to have Brownie.

I think the whole idea is pathetically sexist.
Unless there's room for a one-woman boycott too, I would recommend withdrawing your plan brownie.
Now, if there could be a one-man and one-woman boycott together, that might work.
In that case, I'd offer to boycott with her myself, saving you the effort.
Or, if you insist on being involved, I guess it would still be in the one-man/one-woman boycotting rules if I boycotted with her for the first half and you boycotted with her for the second?

I intend to boycott Coventry, Wigan, Bradford, Peterborough, Man U, and Colchester. And if they haven't bucked up by then, I may not come back from holiday. :)

I boycotted the Oldham match, and reinforced it by having a "sit in"at work, or should that be I sat in my van, as I drove about? Never mind, am sure t am sure the Board took note and therefore I applaud your plan Brother brownie

I am a season ticket holder and I held a one man boycott for the Coventry home game last year.
.....On reflection, I'd been on a bender the night before and could'nt get out of bed.
