But we don’t !! And it KEEPS being pointed out so many times it’s boring! If we had Brooks , we wouldn’t have Egan or Norwood. Brooks could have got injured , we will never know , we haven’t got him so let the fucker lie !!
As ever UTB!

I would rather have Brooks thanks. Either way it shows how shit our charmen are. Best postion for a generation to get to the Prem and they fuck it up.

To be honest for the 1 million (I think) we got for DCL I think that he is the greater loss. At least we got decent money for Brooke’s, but the money for DCL looks like peanuts (accepted that he was a much less developed player).

He is starting to look like a decent centre forward as he fills out and gains game time, certainly at Championship level I think he would be a 15 goals plus a season player.

But of course there are always the Jordan Slew’s of this world!!

Just under £2m plus add ons.

I doubt he's on 15 times his salary, that'd be £100k+ a week.

I currently earn practically nothing through choice because I'm a carer, so I think I could manage a bit of loyalty in the face of a chequebook, and especially to a club that had picked me out of someone else's bin.
What’s 15 x £2k a week. £30k that’s more like it.

Let me put it another way.

If you were a young football player and you were offered 15 times your salary you would be off as quick as possible, and so would I.

You are extremely naive to think loyalty plays any part in football this day and age.

Finally that bin we picked him out of was worth £12m. I don’t think the powers that be will be worried one little bit about loyalty.

Don't see the fuss, Lavery scored 2 aswell, and not only do they have that in common, neither of them had a blades shirt on either.

£2K a week? Do me a lemon. He signed a new contract in October last year, try 7 or 8k, maybe more seeing as we knew he was decent and wanted to keep him.

If he'd wanted £2K a week he could have signed a new contract at Walsall.

Why even mention Brooks anymore? He's gone and we got decent money for a player who'd only played half a season last season. We probably wouldn't have signed Norwood had we not sold Brooks either and Norwood has been our best player. Post January we'll sign a loan number 20 such as Dowell and kick on again. In the meantime lets get behind the lads and there's every chance we can beat Derby and Blackburn. When you look at what we spent on the squad we've no right to be up there and no right to assume we can beat teams like Ipswich as a matter of course.

Yes we should be beating them but its not the end of the world that we haven't. Its so tight in this league and one player can be the difference between 10th and 2nd - look at Gayle for West Brom. Hopefully a Dowell signing will be that man for us. But Brooks going was inevitable after he changed agent - this has all been discussed before. UTB lets do Derby over, who again have spent about 6 times more than we have by the way.

Your so wrong , we were a different team when Brooks was on form , as for decent money your havin a laff , remember when we totally hammered the pigs , Brooks was instrumental in that game , when he played his 1st game for Wales he won man of the match ,when he came off and sat on the bench they announced it on the tannoy , and nobody knew who he was , the player next to him asked him is that you ! I bet they know who he is now , YOU DONT SELL PLAYERS LIKE BROOKS , you give them a fat pay rise and keep them at your club especially when they are as young as he was , plus he was a player the fans loved to watch . Don't watch match of the day tonight because linker and co will be saying what a good player the lad is and what a bargain he was and what a prospect he is , sell sell fuckin sell

I'm sure having an inconsistent rookie on Premier League wages would have done the dressing room a lot of good.

If you're not in the Premier League you do sell players like Brooks. Leeds sold Vydra, Norwich sold Maddison, Stoke sold Shaqiri (same money as Brooks, I'd rather have Shaqiri so maybe we haven't had our pants down?)

Move on, be happy about what we do have, a team full of players that actually want to be here and play for Sheffield United.

No wonder mental health funding is stretched if half of Sheffield needs to be put on antidepressants every time they watch MOTD.

Shaqiri had a release clause; Brooks didn't.We chose to sell Brooks, Stoke had no choice.

Our release clause was a note from the owners saying "thaas gettin nowt Chrissy lad, we're avin a scrap" haha

We should have used the Kilgallon money for Egan, the McDonald money for Norwood and stood firm with Brooks, his agent and Bournemouth whilst using the Murphy money to make him our highest earner with a new deal.

Jack Hunt had metal problems after the bouncing day win , he never recovered and was sold , that nut-meg was fantastic , I wish Leon had put it in after ! Ohh Brooksy come back !!!!!!!!!!!! Got me hankies ready for MOTD
In the mean time we drop out the play offs over the xmas period and some of you fools ask where did it all go wrong FFS !!
Sell Sell Sell .

The big question, where did all the Claude Davis money go?

Considering we mostly lose because of individual fuck ups, I can't really see how Brooks could help.

He wasn't prolific for us, and he's hardly going to stop Henderson passing it to a striker leaving an open goal, or twat Norwood in the face so he can't play that ball against WBA.

He might get in some advanced positions and get chances to set a few up but we get plenty of chances as is. The problem lies with the players we've got, not the ones looking at a Baby Bentley catalogue 230 miles away.

Mate he had glandular fever for one season ffs , watch MOTD a see how Brooks could help , we could go on all night , when we called him back from chessy and before Coutts broke his leg we were an outstanding as a team we were tearing teams apart , don't you remember or did I dream it ?

Villa at home was the best I've ever seen United play, tore them to shreds more than we did Wednesday. He wasn't playing so we've still got the capability, that's all I'm saying.

1 match this season lol we were doing regular when he was inform that's all I am saying

Oh Brooksy, driven down to Bournemouth, chained to Kev’s arm,
Both arrived safely and the cash was handed over. Everyone gets paid this year now.

It’s a great move for him, best Premier League team and manager he could go to. He’s surprised me a bit I must say, but now I think he’ll be a Premier League player for the rest of his career.

Now we need to find the next one to cover next seasons wages.
