Do you not have any problem with breaking a verbal agreement then? I do. It's called decency.
This isn't a win for either club actually, it sours relations with Chesterfield but it also sends out a message to all other clubs that we are a bunch of liars who don't keep our word.
And it's not good for Sheffield United fans, so I'd stop the celebrations right there, because even the reason given for going back on the deal is a lie. Why the hell do we "need to take a closer look at him?". He's been with the first team all last season. The facts are, he's being brought back to be sold. No other reason. Another promising young player sold off before we get the chance to see what he can really do. Let's all laugh about that when it happens eh? We've lied to Chesterfield and we've lied to our own fans about the reasons for not allowing the move to go through.
Not good I'm afraid.
