Player Suggestion Britt Assombalonga

I see Middlesbrough have won just 1 of the last 7 matches he's started (that was against the pigs, so may not really count), so Pulis may possibly losing patience with him?

I really don't think he's a Pulis type player. He's not disciplined enough to play Pulis-ball which is all about rigidity and sticking to a plan.

We will be in for Assombalonga in January
Really surely boro would want nearly 10 mill they only paid 15 million for him a year ago ?

Only one striker from boro I can see us signing and it that’s ashley fletcher , either of them would be great signings tho

Well at least we've got our traditional transfer window saga sorted nice and early.

I look forward to us pretending we can sign him until the very end of the month.

He'd be our best striker but like Hogan, has had a bad knee injury previously so I wouldn't be keen on a big financial risk, even if significantly less than the idiotic amount Boro spent on him.

Is us the fanbase? Because there’s been fuck all official about this one.

Reported that Bristol City are after him....(presumably after missing out on Hogan?)......have we missed a trick here? Personally I would have gone for Assombolonga if available..

I tend to agree with this, however if Hogan can manage to stay relatively injury free for the rest of this campaign, he could prove to be a superb loan signing. He's a good player who compliments those we already have up top.

Was probably one of our options. Looks as if he’s headed to Bristol.

I suspect what may have made us sign Hogan over Assombalonga may be that going off various articles Hogan has been desperate for this move ever since Bruce denied him it in the last window. Talent wise there isn't too much between the two, but Hogan's attitude towards wanting this move may have swung it in his favour.

I’d go for Assombolonga over Hogan. Hogan’s always injured and has barely played any football recently. Not a great signing for me.

Middlesbrough have their eyes on the top two. They wouldn't have loaned us Assombalonga. Wilder referred to this in an interview about rivals unwilling to do business.

If it was a choice, I'd edge towards Assombalonga because he's played more football recently.

Him and Hogan are very comparable, they're at a similar ability level and both had ACL injuries at a similar age. I think they'd both be in the PL but for those injuries.

I know chris knows best but I tend to swing towards players who have match time under their belts. At least Madine in the whole doesn’t have an injury record but Hogans is really bad. Guy from Boro because he is match fit and gives us pace and power
