Besic freeman and lundstram midfield
Funnily enough think lunny is the one who could do with a rest
Norwood looked well off it first half today and fleck did was motm which is quite an achievement after that early yellow card

Norwood was superb. Some of you lot go to different games.

I thought his quick delivery to the right flank was what changed the game in the second half. Presumably under Wilder’s instruction, as Baldock’s running to give the passing option was remarkable. In fact, our right sided players all utterly schooled their opponents in front of the South Stand. A privilege to watch.

Norwood sets the tempo of our team. Right from the start of the 2nd half it was clear he was moving it around much quicker, and Villa couldn’t cope.

Do you think the 2 bookings were pre-planned . I know they both got them pretty early on but could it be a bit of a master stroke /gamble to get them out of the way for the up coming bigger games . I know they are all big games but wouldn’t put it past CWAK to have a plan in place for the Brighton game and try a different set up .
No because Norwood was only on three and we’ve only got a couple of games before cards are re-set. So for Norwood to deliberately get booked would be really stupid.

With Fleck and Norwood out, it feels like a bit of a freebie now.

As above, Norwood is available. However, I would have been tempted to give him a rest at some point soon anyway. Think he's having quite a bad December.

Interesting game at Brighton.

We have McBurnie who Potter had at Swansea but did not take him with him to Brighton, point to prove maybe for Oli.

We have Wilder who tried to sign Maupay, and Maupay might want to put on a show to say, look at what you missed out on Chris.

Wilder to have last laugh on Potter and Maupay.

It will be freeman ,no way it will be besic
I agree (amended my original post to include Freeman). Suppose it depends how he wants to go- I’d see Osborn as a bit more “like for like” and Freeman more an attacking option. As I said, happy with either option; be nice to see what they can do with their opportunity.

I wouldn't be averse to Osborn he Carrys the ball well can defend and has a decent shot on him but I think it would be incredibly harsh on freeman after doing so well in the first few games

Everybody’s assuming Besic or Freeman will be in for Fleck, but for this reason I wonder if it will be Ben Osborn? Happy enough with either TBH.
Possibly, he got a couple of minutes yesterday which is CW’s way of saying ‘keep going, you’re in my thinking, I like the cut of your gib’ although he played Freezy there last time Fleck was out and he seemed to do OK.

But if you were going to rest him and play Bes, it would make sense to do that when Fleck and Lunny are available to minimise the changes. Part of our success is the consistency of team selection and the players knowing each other games really well.

My guess is that Wilder would prefer having a full strength team against Watford to City GCB.

Agree, I would play Norwood against Watford. Then he either picks up his suspension & misses City. Or we rest him against City and then the cards are reset anyway.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Besic in for Fleck, guy was all over the pitch when he came on last week at Norwich. Much better passing range than I expected as well.

Yep, he played really well and fitted into our system.

George Baldock is just as much a revelation as Lunny. Both have taken to the Prem like ducks to water. We are indeed a privelege to watch.

I don’t know if you heard Tufty’s RS interview after the Villa match. He was clearly irked at constant references to our organisation, togetherness and commitment as though that was all we had. He emphasised our talent, our ability to play the game properly. “We don’t just bang it down the channels for Brian Deane to chase...”

Yet again he promulgates proper football and the right way. This time, however, he distanced himself from Bassett.

Hoofers, Tufty is not your man. He never has been. He has now put it beyond all doubt. You have nowhere left to hide. It’s off to Concord Park on a Sunday morning for you lot I’m afraid. Our club is firmly aligned with the beautiful game. There’s nothing for you here. Pele be praised.

You could also clearly tell how up he was. Brilliant interview.

Glib, cocky? You choose, and Fukin God help you when/if we are in a relegation fight come May, Which we could be.

But we won't be. We will be more than comfortable this season. Clear to see.

And you started off so well. First two paragraphs perfectly fine.

Then the latter two...usual bollox.

Tedious.

Yellow cards are a lottery. Wilder will have sufficient confidence that replacements are available, and able to rise to the occasion.
Even if K Freeman ends up having to stand in for George, just as he is proving his value.
