So is this good news or bad news if we want to sign players from abroad
 
The Home Internationals were always The REAL World Cup anyway!
 
You mean clubs won't be able to sign 14 year old kids and move them across Europe just for the faint chance of making it as a pro?

How many players are there from the 14 EU nations and how many from the rest and has anyone analysed yet how many of those playing now wouldn’t qualify under the new rules?

Need more information, but I'd say not great for us and shit for EFL clubs.

If a player has had no international appearances then that's fewer points right away. How many club appearances does he have to have to then be eligible for those points?

And what on earth does the 'pedigree' of the selling club mean?

For example there are 29 from France and 25 Spaniards. But there are 24 from Brazil.

There's also 20 from Portugal but I think all of those are probably at Wolves.

This is hardly unusual because those where the most players have come from are the top nations in world football anyway.

Famously, someone like Mahrez wouldn't have qualified to be signed by Leicester, but on the other hand the likes of Cenk Tosun and Joelinton obviously got the green light.

Would we miss Verrips, or even Mousset?

For clubs like us, a bit more of a challenge.

Going to build a bigger gap then i reckon Everyone in EFL and under top 6 can't look for hidden gems. What a load of shit this is
 

Ismaila Coulibaly was signed by us last summer with the view that he would be our player after he qualifies to be an EU citizen so after the agreement, where would that leave us with him?​

If Beerschot qualify for Euro, I assume this will help the pedigree of the "selling club" (if you can call Beerschot that)? He'll probably pick up a few full caps soon enough which will help with his points total.

He's our player. He'd need to presumably meet the same criteria, reputation of club aside.
 
Two major issues here.

The biggest issue here is going to be at youth level. If clubs can't sign kids from outside the UK then their youth teams will be full of English players. It means having a top academy is absolutely vital now. If you replaced all the foreign youth players in the elite academies with English players, would many of our Academy players actually have signed for us? It makes it even more unlikely that any youth players will be able to step up.

The other issue is signing players from abroad. The EU becomes like the rest of the world. Therefore, you're only likely to be able to sign established internationals and the cream of U-23/21 players. I would be surprised if we could have signed Berge, for instance, but it depends on how generous they are being but I suspect a bigger club would have come in. It means that our lack of scouting network is both a benefit and a hindrance. The former because we've not invested heavily in something which now is much less beneficial. But, it will be much harder to sign players from abroad as much greater competition, so those with the greater knowledge may be able to snap players up first.

As with every single thing in football, it benefits the top clubs and the clubs with the most money.

Gap is going to start in the efl with some clubs can't afford to sign ready made internationals, not sure why the efl agreed to have 15 points
