Is that the same Brewster that was brought in over Wilder's head ... mmm and some fans are happy with a dof ... I know who I'd rather have in charge at the lane
Brought in over Wilder's head? Why did Wilder claim that last summer that it was "best ever transfer window"?

The owner said publicly that he didn't want to sign Brewster permanently, he wanted him in on loan.

But, people believe what they want to believe.

Well I think as a box to box midfielder through the centre with decent service he will be banging goals in for fun and an England player within 5 years and demanding £50m+ from top clubs.

We just don’t know how to play him, like our other strikers their priority int scoring goals it’s making up a third man so wingbacks and midfielders can play happy triangles ont chalk line.

What really gets me about Brewster is his attitude, his very immature attitude. Some folk will say it’s great that he is always smiling and joking on the behind the scenes videos, looks to be having a great time and doesn’t have a single care in the world.

Play crap, sat on the bench, no problem big smiles all round and having a great old time it seems.

The manager wants to boot him so far up his arse that he is no longer that immature little kid who acts like he’s 16 on the videos, the smiles are gone and replaced with a stone cold look of a young hungry player desperate to kick start his career and score some goals, I want to see him upset, upset that he’s not in the starting 11, upset that he is playing shocking, upset that he can’t score, until that happens he will never progress and will always be the immature little boy who is loving life because of what’s in his bank balance and couldn’t care less about knuckling down and sorting himself out because there is a player in there, a very good one but I doubt we will get to see it until he gets a roasting and totally changes his whole outlook.

Yeah I think perhaps we have been too nice and patient with him which sets the 'bigotry of low expectations' as they'd say in politics.

He's 20, he's an adult not a child. We were lovely giving him a standing ovation after his tap-in against Carlisle, time for him to step things up. Yes it's not entirely his fault, but does he stay behind for extra training?

On the basis of what we've seen it doesn't look like it, and if he does his inability is even more frightening.

Not that it matters to us, as we want him to perform in a United shirt, but Liverpool must have rated him to have a buy back option and sell on clause inserted in his contract. Just not doing it for us though is he, Klopp must be laughing his cock off!

"Bambi on ice" is one description I heard of the young Brian Deane.

I believe a scout went to Donny to watch another player, but saw something in Deano. I think the club paid £40,000 for him.
I've got to say that first season when Deane and Agana played together, I'd have said Agana was the better player. The pace and athleticism of the pair of them was immense....

I’m no expert but his positioning, instincts, awareness, pace, guile, strength, ruthlessness, aggression, arial ability, dribbling, energy, enthusiasm and general reading of a game all seem terrible.

I have no idea what he offers up front but it’s none of the above and it certainly isn’t goals.

… on the basis of what we've seen, he doesn't look like a professional footballer.

He looks like he'll be lucky to have a career similar to Jordan Slew.

I'd really like us to loan him out somewhere to get some confidence or something back, even if it means paying 100% of his wages.

Very very worrying.
Absolute garbage ….and that’s a fact. Please can people stop saying “he will come good” or “he’s going to rip it up” he isn’t. He makes Connor Salmon look like Harry Kane.

I agreed with everything until you said there is a very good player in there. From day one he’s contributed and demonstrated nothing. Disgraceful.

Slav needs to make a decision and live or die by it

Problem with Brewster is we don’t play to his strengths, look at the goals he scored at Swansea and we just don’t tee him up that way

Either rip up the midfield and buy/loan players that can create for him or fuck him off

Either way it will cost, but the alternative is to continue with a £23m dud

CW drove us to spend the bulk of our budget to take a knife to a gun fight, best window ever remember lads

Hes a decent player and at a club that creates chances (swansea) he scores goals. Until we improve our midfield and creativity in the squad then it doesnt matter whos at the top of the pitch. Our style of play is stifling players who have proved they can score when they have decent service.

We need to phase out norwood/fleck with more creative & aggressive players if we want to progress as a club and get the best out of our strikers.

Trouble is I hear this but he has had chances in his 30 odd games and has only taken 1 of them :(

What I’m finding particularly difficult to understand is why we paid £23.5m for Brewster and 12 months on are seemingly giving serious consideration to selling Jebbison for £5m. Why is there such a huge difference in fees? Fair enough Brewster had a decent 6 months under his belt at Swansea but it shouldn’t explain the gulf in fee in my mind. We’re in danger of having our pants down twice. The people behind our transfers perhaps need moving on. This close season has been a complete shambles, both in terms of the dealings in and out of the club.

Didn't Klopp say that Brewster was a very good finisher but that there were other aspects of his game that needed to be worked.
From what I have seen it maybe he would score goals in a dominant team when the ball is laid on a plate for him. The problem is that he is not nearly as good as we hoped or needed him to be and also we are not as creative as we should be.

Obviously he is not a good fit for us. Some of it is down to his work rate and movement. It's difficult to know what is best to do. Play him every week in the hope he comes good or loan him in the hope he comes good and gives us an option of regaining most of his fee. Selling him now would bring us very little.

The goals he scored for Swansea were largely down to bad goalkeeping and piss poor defending,... Watch them through again and imagine the shit our keepers would get if they'd have conceded such soft goals

Played centre back most of my life at NECL and central mids. Not the best standard, but half decent I would have loved to have marked Brewster every week. Never challenges for a header, doesn't press defenders, average pace and no movement. Easy afternoon for most centre backs.
I have never played centre back most of my life at NECL, but I'd also like to have marked Brewster.

I think it’s a bit of both, isn’t it?

He isn’t exactly the player we thought we bought. We were all excited to get him. But, to me, he’s lacking in his anticipation, his runs, and his ability to get on the ball.

That said, I know he’s played a lot of games, but it’s hard to remember him actually missing many decent chances. We just don’t create full stop. That’s partly his fault, but it’s also our poor creativity, and our lack of attacking patterns of play. The strikers never know when or if the ball is coming into the box, so it can’t be easy to make the right runs.

I thought he looked decent against Swansea playing wife left. He was able to get on the ball a little bit more.

Do you remember that time, against Luton, where he did a "Shross" and it ended up at the halfway line?

I mistakenly likened him to Chris Guthrie, but Guthrie did score the odd goal

the more I watch the less likely he looks to make the grade

players who overcome this sort of goal drought do work their socks off to overcome it
he drifts seemingly without focus and that is very disturbing
