Brewster and McBurnie Charged

McBurnie has scored just 7 goals in 87 appearances for the Blades since 2019!

He was joint leading scorer on 6 with Mousset!

Yep, just seen that it was actually 6. Other than that, is there anything else I've said that's incorrect?

Since we got relegated Mcburnie has been very poor ok he has been injured a lot. but when picked he has done nowt.
Perhaps it is best for him to move on to another club. loan or sell him.

Charge upgraded to Assault by Beating from Common Assault. Seems the CPS are going all out to get a conviction. Assault by beating indicates force was used which could be as little as pushing, grabbing someone or spitting at them. The grainy video suggests some pushing but the grabbing was definitely done by Brewster. It seems there is a 13 year old witness to the alleged assault. How credible their evidence is bearing in mind he will also be a Florist fan committing a criminal act by invading the pitch remains to be seen. It is possible this could be the person who took the grainy video.

Mcb has righty pleaded not guilty so the trial is moved back to 7 December.

I'm no fan of Mcb's footballing abilities but lets put some context here before the usual cries of lets get rid of him, he's a bad apple etc.

Nottingham Forest are guilty of failing to control their fans and allowing an illegal pitch invasion. Yet inexplicably even now the FA for reasons unknown are dragging their feet yet see fit to charge, Everton, Bristol Rovers and Huddersfield for the same offence. Mcb's actions have no bearing on a charge against Florist under FA rule e.20.1.

Hundreds of Florist fans carried out criminal actions in invading the pitch some threw smoke bombs into the away end yet no action has been taken by Notts police force unlike West Yorks police who are actively pursuing individuals.

A serious assault occurred on SUFC's captain and SUFC players and staff have said they were attacked and feared for their lives as stewards and police did nothing to protect them. Whilst Sharps perpetrator was dealt where are the investigations into these other concerns?

Against this background Mcb is involved in an incident with a Florist fan who ran towards SUFC players. There is an argument to say there were considerable mitigating circumstances leading up to the said incident.

No doubt the court of public opinion will convict Mcb before his trial simply because he's a bad boy. I've more faith in the legal process and its best to wait until the case concludes before jumping to conclusions about the outcome. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty and the conviction will only happen if the 3 Magistrate judges believe the evidence proves beyond reasonable doubt the alleged assault occurred.
Two things

First, a question. Could it be requested that it’s moved to Crown Court? I’m not a fan of magistrates - part timers. Or would it be a case of having to appeal if found guilty?

Second, I think it’s time our local press made a bit of an issue of this, particularly why Forest haven’t been charged.

McBurnie is detrimental to the team, not beneficial!
Plus the only time McBurnie has 'hit form' during his career was during his time at Swansea!

7 goals in 87 appearances for the Blades 🤨
Right, the message I initially replied to said;

"Evans hit a ridiculous streak of form with his trial hanging over him, maybe McBurnie will react the same way."

I replied;

"If he does it's 100% guaranteed he'll get a custodial sentence and miss the rest of the season..."

All your replies were totally irrelevant to the hypothetical situation we were talking about.

I think the stats speak for themselves don't you?

Yes they do, they say that he finished leading scorer (joint) in the season we finished 9th.

I'm not sure what it is you're disagreeing with me about.

This will get laughed out of court
With all the shit that's going on in the world this is what the police and cps dedicate their budget to ?

Fanciful thinking there.

Public eye figure (and one with a history of violence) is filmed offering more of it to a person on the floor. There's your summing up statement from the prosecution, along with the question why he didn't fuck off inside when the fans were running riot, safe in the knowledge he may be a catalyst for an incident.

I have no sympathy. I don't want him at the club or wasting a shirt shithousing up front for us either. We have tolerated his shit long enough

pommpey

This is absolutely ridiculous. All that horseshit about clamping down on cunts getting on field was nonsense. This is going to give a green light for tossers like forest fans to go looking for a reaction. Wish McBurnie had smashed the lads skull in fully now.

Common assault is a summary offence and only heard at the Magistrates Court. Now the charge has been upgraded to Assault by beating this is an either way offence that could be heard in either the Magistrates or Crown Court. I share your sentiments about magistrates. An appeal would go to the Crown court if the decision is disagreed with where no mistake by the magistrates has occurred.

On the subject of the local press I doubt they have the desire to get involved in investigative journalism on controversial subjects. The FA making this decision is likely to add weight to Mcb's case. They had plenty to say about the Evans case but the standard of reporting in our local rags has diminished considerably since.

Regardless of how many goals he’s scored or not scored, any self-respecting Blade (or even football fan in general) should be backing McBurnie 100% on this; he was at his place of work when surrounded by hundreds of opposition supporters making a beeline for him after seeing his teammate get headbutted for no reason.
This is a complete stitch up by Notts plod; to say because he’s not scored many he should be fair game for getting set upon is mind blowing.

Love the hatred towards McBurnie.

Blades fans and slagging our own, goes together as easily as night turns to day.

Made 30 appearances last season = 1 goal.

McBurnie much like with Moose. It is jam tomorrow. Maybe he just needs to play under a different manager, maybe he just needs a run of games, once fit he will be fine ( that is what Swansea fans keep telling me ).

Maybe things will change for him? I reckon if he is scoring goals on a regular basis again it won't be for us.

Also has the person he is supposed to have assaulted, be banned for being on the pitch.

From the video of this episode alone it looks a very sketchy case for the prosecution, the witnesses must be making them believe there is a case to answer. Those if they are not supposed to be in the area will make unreliable witnesses . So unless it’s Forest players /staff or police are acting as witnesses it unlikely he be found guilty.

So Brewster who pulled a guy onto the floor get his charges dropped but McBurnie in a medical boot gets charged with assault by beating . How much does race play into that decision or is it solely because he reacted to a piece of shit in Knaresborough last year? Seems like a bit of a witch hunt to me by those from Nottingham, again why have no charges been made by the FA when they have targeted Everton, Huddersfield and Port Vale for crowd disorder? Again why no police investigation from Nottinghamshire constabulary when Merseyside, Staffordshire and the West Yorkshire forces are actively seeking people involved in the pitch invasions and disorder in their areas? Maybe McBurnie should elect to have trial by jury at say Derby Crown court, I would have said Sheffield Crown court but looking at some of the posts on here he would hardly get a fair trial in this city either. His guilt or non guilt are not really anything to do with how many goals he has scored for the Blades believe it or not.

Made 30 appearances last season = 1 goal.

1,013 league minutes. Equivalent to 11 full games.
Actual 90 min apps = 4.
He also played 2x 86 min apps. So even if you class those 2 as 90mins also, he played 6 full games.

In 20 of those league apps, he played less than 45 mins and 6 of those were 10 mins or less

Have you ever wondered why he rarely plays 90 minutes?

Not sure what you are trying to prove or disprove with this information.

I think we as a team sufc should be pressing the FA to ensure anyone who took part in the incident or witnessed it close up is handed huge bans from football , and forest are given proper sanctions

Injuries, then Covid and fitness problems.

He's not missed any games due to attitude problems or police matters, as far as I'm aware!?!

Not sure what you are trying to prove or disprove with this information.

Consistent run of games. Hard for any player to perform at their best when each time they gain match fitness they get injured again, or struggle to break into a winning team (post-Nov)

As I predicted this is going to court.

I won’t comment further as I’ve previously been accused of having an “agenda” but surely most of you will agree that it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world if in the not too distant future we were able to free up his wages to bring a couple of players in who might actually contribute a bit more to the first team than McBurnie has.

Yeah … no matter if he’s innocent or guilty convict him so we can free up some cash 🙄

Some right tossers follow his club!

Ignoring this event he still comes across as a bad apple. Terrible role model to the younger players both on and off the pitch. Now we have his trial hanging over the club in the important Christmas period.
I was one of those bigging him up over Maupey because the latter seemed to have a bad attitude. Shows how much me and Wilder know about players with good charecter.
