It’s about time we, as a club, kept hold of our most saleable assets

We should be on the phone to his agent, offering £40k a week to make him the highest earner at the club. Now is the perfect time—he’s out of form, and not many clubs at the level he wants will be sniffing around at this present time.

Offer him a 5-year deal on £40k a week, with a 6-month supply of Mounjaro to get him fighting fit.

Why do we have to sell our players? It would cost £10 million to replace him.

Players like Gus don’t come around often. Trust me, I’ve scouted all around Europe.

UTFB!

Undoubtedly our best player and one of the best in the division. From a footballing perspective there are technically worse players in the premier league.

It was only last week before he made his return that i said to some of the people at the match, people seem to have forgot genuinely how good he is. if he gets himself back to how he should be for January he is better than any realistic signing we could bring in.

40k a week, 40k a week?!

If you gave Gus 40k a week, the only person happy with that outcome would be the local kebab shop owner.

He'd be turning up for games looking like Augustus Gloop! 😉

Sorry but he’s yesterday’s news
Fitness and attitude are key issues and to me we are a better side without him.
Also add he’s got a lot of personal stuff going on which doesn’t help

Hamer is a good footballer and at times scored some cracking goals for the blades BUT in particular over the recent weeks when he was out injured our performances and results picked up without him, there does seem a problem in playing him out on the left which leaves Harrison a bit open with no cover and COH has been brilliant and ideally shouldn't be dropped for Hamer.
Just my opinion!!!

Great footballer and really enjoyed watching him for us, but it doesn't look like he'll sign a new deal and it's probably best we get what we can for him in January.

Weirdly ive also been of the opinion that despite being a quality footballer , its generally to the detriment of the team.

Id sell, but then ive see how we invest.

Get shut and buy 4 or 5 to make us all round better like what Howard Kendall did when he flogged Nathan Blake after 45 mins of football

Where’s the money coming from ?

It’s not even about where is the money is coming from?

We could have billionaires who could easily afford to give him £80K a week
But then it wouldn’t be long before we face a large points deduction for effectively cheating by ignoring FFP restrictions.

We received £45 million from Sky last season, this season it’s £35 million
If we fail to be relegated then it returned to the normal 8 or £9 million that all CC clubs receive.

So basically in order to stand still we need to find/ reduce costs by about £25 to £30 million otherwise we’ll be sailing close to the wind.
Really don’t think many of our fans realise we are having some big sales in the Summer…..gauranteed.

The only way we won’t be selling major players is if our owners are incompetent (which is unlikely) and try doing a Chansiri by gambling again.
Never know maybe the salary deals all have substantial reductions built so we’re not under so much pressure to sell, after all.

Exactly

Gus is a luxury player and we can't afford luxuries at the moment, we need solidity.

All good and well trying tricks and flicks when you're in flying form and near the top of the table but in a relegation scrap you need consistency, accuracy and reliability
