Coutts would be a great signing long term. Can we get him,who knows.Personally he's not far of Prem standard already so it will be a hard task to do so.Him and Charlie Macdonald from Bournemouth and we would go into almost certain playoff winners imo.I can dream.
I've found a Charlie Macdonald (who is 34 next month) playing for Barnet, but not one for Bournemouth.

Cardiff forums this morning reporting that Lee Peltier is on his way to them as a replacement for Brayford, who they expect is heading to us.

It's uncanny reading comments of Cardiff fans on this. Essentially, "Tan determined to trim wage bill significantly; Slade was appointed specifically to do this; we are preparing for the possibility of relegation; this is why a player like Beard will very likely be sold before the end of Jan; Slade and Tan out !"

Does this remind anyone of any other football league club in recent memory ?

If they start mentioning Hoofball and Alehouse slade then we'll know where Micalijo has defected to!

He'll break his leg or something daft on debut - it's the Blades Way :D

It's Shaun Macdonald mate, apologies, had a memory relapse.Quality midfielder and we would no longer be bullied.

Respected itk'er on BM:

"Patience fellow Blades, The Beard, and COG on their way."

That'll shut me and a few other frustrated fans up! :D

If the board have pulled these deals off then they deserve some credit

Agree - but is it a case of shutting the stable door when the horse has already bolted?
Needed this kind of GCI 3-4 months ago, surely?

I mean - The Beard must fecking hate Cardiff to want to spend at least 18 months more in this shit hole division.
Sure it improves the possibility of escaping out through the play offs but shit - it's a bloody lottery, that is.
Not sure my heart or, indeed, any one of a series of sphincter muscles, is going to last out that long.

Must admit, I'm feeling confident that the Beard is on his way back.

Like Ken says though, just bizarre that we've waited until the JTW to do such business.

These will be the best 80k deals in the clubs history:D

It probably wasnt able to be done any sooner.
The 2 players mentioned above along with their clubs are in a totally different position to the one they were in at the start of the season. These 2 have probably been Cloughs priotity targets since July

But would this not reveal two fatal flaws for Clough:
1) he's had no plan b and was too focussed on his initial targets
2) he's had ample money to spend, but hasn't done so to great effect

Maybe we have had to wait until now. Cardiff wanted to give him a go and you can't really blame him if he wanted to give things a go down there. Let's hope this goes through along with COG. :)

I think we tried.

Brayford was wanted by Solskjaer at that point and has been pretty much a 1st choice, until Tan sacked him and brought Slade in to cut the bill. Hence why we can get him now.

O'Grady again, we tried to sign him, then he had a better offer from Brighton in the Championship. No brainer. Now it's not worked out and he wants back to South Yorkshire.

I suspect The Beard will be there tonight - any tweets??

Shaun Macdonald - tough tackling mid-fielder, seen him play many times, had a few long term injuries but solid as a rock when fit.
