This is Christmas 2010 all over again. Asset stripping replaced by crap with a manager out of his depth.
You can do better than that......sigh.

3 games in and it starts, which is more worrying than the "asset stripping".

McNulty will be next.

We are going down.

You're joking mate seriously? We'd never be going down whatever we do this season. but Brayford has contributed nothing but mediocrity for two years now on wages that all of our squad could only dream of. Time to move on, wish the beard well but now we can sign a full back who will give his all, as opposed to playing like he wants to move, which he now has. I hope McNulty will come back into the fold that said.

Or maybe one day, the realisation that most of the fans are the clueless ones, and that we should just stop heaping pressure on managers, might sink in where it counts.

Of course, perhaps the 6 promotions gained by Wilder and Adkins we're really down to luck luck, as a few fucking idiots have seriously suggested.

UTB
Well the twonk running the club reckons the reason we are in the shit is down to luck, so why not? ;)

The squad is going to be worse than last year when Wilder and McCabe have finished with it.

I was bang right last year, as you admit. Sadly it looks like I might be again.

There is no evidence wilder can manage at this level yet. None.

I hope I am wrong but this looks like a shambles. No plan, all reactive. As ever.

You genuinely don't see how bad this squad is, do you?

We have enough goal scorers but they are playing out of position or in a formation that doesn't suit them.

I genuinely think re Adams goals you are blind to it deliberately or (less likely) just don't understand how important goals are.

It shouldn't be hard to find a tactical platform in which our goalscorers can flourish. That's why we won't miss Che's goals, we'll replace them. 11 goals isn't that many either. And the number of games he scored in was only about 6 or 7. And one or two were penalties.

Doyle and Collins were worse than the players they replaced and got us relegated. What are you, a goldfish?

No need to be an arse mate, we're all Blades on here. No I watched Reid, Britton, Bartley and co, they were all gash. Doyle and Collins were part of a team that got 90 points under Wilson and they gave a shit about the club which is something that most players at our place have failed to do in recent seasons bar some notable exceptions. Collins said that when he left in the interview with ViewfromJohnStreet.

We got relegated that season because McCabe sacked Blackwell who should nevr have been sacked after 3 games in that season and then appointed a novice in Speed followed by Adams who took over a car crash waiting to happen so he brought in players who would fight for the cause and that's what Collins and Doyle did.

Basham was better there last season then Brayford has been. Though I'm not convinced by that switch, we've got little to lose and much to gain, including the enormous wage relief.

Of course, as always, it's what we do with it that counts.

UTB

Do all our players that come here with good credentials turn to dogshit ?

What's the common denominator ??

You were right that the sale of Murphy didn't lead to adequate squad strengthening.

We've made a lot of changes this season, binning off a squad full of dross accumulated by Clough. We've continued to strengthen, including an expensive goalkeeper.

If the results hadn't ben so bad, we'd be judging all this much differently.

What a load off bollocks just proved to me that Wilder has no idea whats so ever. All his signings are crap & the only decent players we've got are going. Mc Cabe must be a happy chap at the moment. Were only going 1 way that's down & into administration.

I hope you're right. So it's now a RB, CB CM and a pacy forward needed and jobs a good 'un.

What do you reckon?

Not a hope. All we have freed up is (some) wages so no transfer funds and Wilder seemingly has doubts about the attitude of some of his own signings so that list might be a bit light. Wouldn't be surprised to see K Wallace at LB v Millwall. The firesale continues and we edge closer to a relegation fight. We are descending into chaos and its beginning to look like Wilder will get us out of this division - the wrong way. Right now I can't see higher than bottom half of the table for us.

That's revisionism of history gone mad. Adams brought Collins and Doyle in to help us stay up and they were woefully inadequate in their performances and were a significant factor in our relegation. We were 17 or 18th when Adams came in and finished relegated with a couple of games to spare.

Firesale? I'm sure I spent the summer reading how we needed to get rid of every player that played for us last season. That is what you are getting.

We got relegated because we kept selling our best players mate, asset stripping just what mccabe does best.

Looks like we are going back to Blackwell style again now, no quality but plenty of percentage football to watch HOOF IS BACK

Reid and Bartley gash, worse than Collins and Doyle.

Wow.

Slight concern to me is the hand to mouth nature of today's signing.

Perhaps just coincidence.

But on the day we spend some money on a keeper at wages Wilder says are affordable we also coincidentally offload our top earner plus a Long standing senior out of favour player.

Let's say this 500k deal is 300k plus 200k add ins. Not unreasonable. Let's say he's on 6k per week, 300k per annum.

On the very same day, Brayford, probably on 12k per week and we would be entitled to ask for a loan fee if not cover all his wages or both.

So, say 600k drops comes into the club, further supplemented by the 200k per annum no doubt Woolford was on.

Which then begs the question, why hasn't the Che money been touched to bring in a much needed midfielder and centre back notwithstanding Done is not the answer wide left so if Chapman is not the full time replacement then someone else needs to come in. Plus unless Wallace is back in favour then Hussey cannot continue to put in 4/10 performances uncontested.

Either way, no sign of reinvesting the Adams money to date. And the team is arguably less complete now Brayford is gone.

No idea fella. It wouldn't alter my support for releasing an expensive player who's offered nothing for far too long.

I am intrigued as to what your tipping point will be this season.

I am not sure you can call it strengthening until we actually win a game. And that won't happen tomorrow.

And I am surprised you are so sanguine about us doing Clough a favour. If Biggs is right and we are paying them to take him - well, a chimp could do a better job.
