Keep your sympathy, mate. Especially when you haven't got the bollocks to chirp up apart from when everyone else's been piling in. For what it's worth, the picture's been updated. The bloke who can't differentiate between it's and its, who lectures me on mistakes, is back on ignore. It's Friday fucking evening. Go have a beer. There were Blades in the picture, and I've been trying to string out derby-related pics since the BDM happened. Just my bit of fun, I guess. I'll consign Brooksy's nutmeg etc to the bin. It was good while it lasted!

Danny.....Danny.......put the shovel down.

If it had been the accompaniment to a piece praising United’s away following it would make perfect sense to include. In this specific context though, it was always going to result in the reaction it’s received.

To put it another way, if you were writing a piece on United’s contribution to community activities, it probably wouldn’t be a great idea to include a close shot of the club badge that was tattooed onto the stripper from When Saturday Comes. The excuse “It’s about Sheffield United: there’s a picture of their badge” would probably not be received well.

Hardly a cathedral to happiness...should someone send Danny directions to Bramall Lane, you know, just in case he forgets like?

Ah you can easily find the ground. Just follow the passionate roar of the fans. Like these Blades pictured earlier:

Ooooo the porky massive will hate this. Surely, SURELY 38 seconds or so of bouncing is the single greatest atmosphere that has ever been generated at any sporting event in history ever? The stand was rocking dont'cha know?

On a more serious note...the lane is capable of producing an atmosphere that few can even come close to, let alone match. Nice to get some recognition of the fact.

That must be Danny04 I see in the front row (middle and smallest), peace sign and all......ya gotta give it to the young 'un, he's a junkie for the spotlight.

*posts picture of Blades fans celebrating massive victory over rivals in their own backyard. But pig rag, yeah?

I didn’t call it a ‘pig rag’.

Surely you can see why this article is either

a: a ball’s up
b: a malicious dig

?

"Sheffield United are riding high in the Championship as Chris Wilder's side braze a trail on the pitch"

I only read the first sentence. Fucking wank.

Well spotted Keef, and there was Danny04, post#59, criticising someone for their use of the English language. Perhaps Danny's spell-checker isn't working? Got to be a really good reason why our very own Hemingway makes that type of slip when all around him seem to get by without worrying too much about being word perfect, whilst Danny04 uses such a lame device to critique others?

To be fair, I do think the Star is the best of the local papers though...Chronicle-Logo-Red.png

What????

Danny04 you're a good man, and a blade. And it ain't the first time I've said similar on here. But this was a bit of a fuck up, right, whether you or the pics ed., or whoever, was responsible ? Own it mate, and move on. It's good to have a proper Utd supporter at The Star.

Yep, seems so. Wanted to keep using pics from the derby for as long as possible but probably stretched it a bit far. You’d think I’d used Michael Vaughan and Alex Turner reading some of these comments, but hey ho

You sound like a call back to the boardroom on the Apprentice.

As for stretching it :)

Now don't have a go at me for coming late to the party, I've only just found this thread. Don't believe your explanation, you can't even tell they're Blades. I just don't see why you wouldn't have used any number of pictures showing Bramall Lane for an article about......Bramall Lane, especially when the caption says Blades fans at Bramall Lane.

Believe what you like, but caption didn’t say that. Funnily enough, I know the difference.

.....You do Danny, just as you altered, by something close to stealth, your text from braze, to the correct spelling, blaze, in the original article.

Pity it took a poster on here to point this out to you, without receiving any thanks I should add, but given your defensive tone, perhaps it's not surprising that you don't acknowledge the poster for his alertness. Seems you were a bit dozy when you submitted your piece in return for The Star's shilling.....given the errors in your piece, did you receive payment? Are standards so low at The Star that they'll accept any old tosh so long as it has the appearance of relevance? Got yourself an easy gig there mate!

The post I ‘liked’ you mean?

Just draw a line under it now FFS! The guy is a Blade when all said and done. Yes, he could have handled it better and held his hand up to the error but for crying out loud, some of you lot are enough to get anyone's back up. I get that the majority don't particularly like the paper - me included- but just let it go now and cut the kid some slack.

We're all Blades, aren't we?
