Again, your anger does you no favours. I received my infraction earlier.
Hopefully a similar sanction will help you to keep in line with the ethos of this forum and show some respect towards others.
This is your opportunity to learn, take it.
I am always up for a good debate
Me too.
Nothing better than a good ol' mass debate.
come on - time for plain speaking. He's a wanker.Jerk!
you are of course entitled to your opinion but unfortunately you appear to have no respect for those with different views, who are equally entitled to their opinions.
Whilst I didn't share your opinion on this occasion, I didn't feel the need to treat you in the way you treated those that had the temerity to express an alternative view to your own.

I wouldn't know.Like the Cockney silver tongued cavalier and the 2 stalkers you mean?
I respect all decent people. I maintain a continuing dialogue with all sorts of people who profoundly disagree with me but know how to express themselves. I have done so for many years. You are one of a tiny number of exceptions and you quite knowingly brought it upon yourself, seeking an immediate confrontation with me. You knew full well where that would lead, because I don't suffer gobshites at all, still less gladly.
As I say, it is no coincidence that your arrival has introduced new levels of nastiness to the forum. Wishing a career-ending injury on a young footballer (one I don't have any time for, by the way) was as low as I've seen for some time. Many of your 'contributions' are peppered with personal, vindictive bile.
I respect those who command it. That's not you, Tiger.
I'm done with you now. Let's see how long you can reciprocate. You couldn't contain yourself last time and I regret to say I don't think you ever will. Time will tell.
I wouldn't know.
If something causes me distaste from the off I just skip over it.
Maybe you should have done the same?
Once you bite you lose the high ground and hit an ever downwards spiral.
Call me anything you like but I'm not coming back to you again on this one.
If you don't like my point of view we'll just have to agree to disagree
Happy new year to you.
I hope we all have a good one.
I thought that was lowering the bar? There's usually a free exchange on here that I think we'd all appreciate and value. But sometimes the bar is raised to levels that become intensely personal. I've been as guilty as any other poster in this respect, often the passions flow, the belief that an opinion needs to be responded to, and suddenly the tone and words escalate in ways that seem more relevant of the need to be proved right, rather than in defence of the original point.
Yesterday was exceptional. I don't stand in judgement of anyone, but sometimes it's impossible to ignore the vindictive nature of posters who only seem able to comment on one very unpleasant level. I'm not someone who believes that because we support the same team that we should extend courtesies for the sake of it. If a point is raised that we disagree with then that's why the forum exists, and there's certainly no hesitancy where this is concerned, Returning to the beginning of this paragraph, I noticed levels of hostility that were just one step from a display of violence. It puzzles me because we're not discussing the trials and tribulations that exist in the Middle East, it's football, plain and simple.
Sometimes I get the feeling that there's a tribal craving for something above the usual exchange of compliments, corrections, or even disagreements. Yesterday confirmed this in ways that I hope are rare occurrences, and not a sign of things to come. There's no subtext here about censoring anyone (that's not my responsibility), but I do wish that the synchronising of mind, lips, and fingertips, would be more evident on here. Isn't it more productive to construct a sentence or two along the lines of a well thought out message that doesn't allude to someone else's parentage, or whether they are genuinely related to the male or female genitalia, or whatever else the poster imagines is a quip worthy of a street poet. No points for imagining what this sort of poster will think in response to my thoughts, and I, as much as anyone on this forum, employ the flowery aspects of the English language more than most. But when trite, ill-considered comments quickly dashed off, replace taking a few minutes to consider what they intend to say, then that's when the quality of some of this forum takes a turn for the worse.
Sounds like the Pope on Christmas day ;-)
I thought that was lowering the bar?
If it helps, I could provoke you at some point later?I'm sober right now so I've bookmarked this for later. Deffo gonna call someone a bastard at some point. Might not be able to spell it right but I'm sure you'll know when it happens.
Desso pitch V Jamie Murphy
Done V Clarke
Modern football V other eras?
Too much of this thought process these days. Opinions are great, free speech is great but there should be more behind it than "I think this and fuck you".
The fact that you blame everyone else for taking offence without a care for what they think says everything about where this place previously held together but now is coming unhinged at the seams.
The Tyler v Pinchy thing was frankly pathetic and both are capable of so much more input than the shit currently being thrown around.
I'm sure I'll be told something nice like my tampon fell out but I know many people who post on here less these days because of the demeanour of a loud minority.
As someone who has managed to tone down the language I used on here, mainly because I know the effort the guys who run the forum put in and appreciate that unlike Zuckerburg don't have unlimited resources to check for 'offensive' language and name calling, I'd urge others to do the same.
If you disagree with someone fine just say so, if you find someone so offensive who's opinion is so different to yours you can't stand to read their views I believe their is a block function.
I know I personally have put some strong views that have been expletive laden over the years, but I'm big enough to admit I didn't convey my views in an appropriate manner.
Best thing to do is call a truce and move on.
Too much for me itsy, just trying to be light hearted, seemed a bit heavy manPerhaps you should read a broader spectrum than the teachings of the Catholic Church?

Still I think that my hoping that old Jug Ears ends up getting a testimonial at 22 is slightly less sick than you invoking the deaths of 96 innocent people to use in an argument against me, but then I suppose I could spend all day poking holes in your statements.

Ok,Serious topic requires a serious response. I'm sure you'd appreciate that not everything can be dismissed by a few inappropriate, lightweight comments?
The vast majority of what constitutes the forum is either light in tone or swings between attempts at humour, contributions about life in general or addresses the one thing we all come here for, our mutual interest in all things football related. Every so often something worthy of a serious approach is called upon, I felt that what happened yesterday, over the course of a few hours, deserved something that wouldn't belittle the posters concerned, but would address this matter to anyone willing to read what I wrote.
Someone else may have approached this differently, but I've said my tuppence worth. Posters can either consider my observations for what they are meant to be, a call to anyone who thinks it's ok to act foolishly, hurtfully, and with the arrogance that's based on 'knowing best', or to show enough wisdom to accept that you may just have crossed a line and realise that it was wrong and shouldn't be repeated.
I'm not someone who considers my point of view infallible, but words on a page that scream "I don't care", or that chooses to denigrate others with the inclusion of terms that suggest disabled people are lesser individuals, well, I don't know about you, but the values I hold dear don't have a place for such bollocks. I sometimes employ a little lad-ism in my day to day life, but never to the extent where I goad others because of things they can't be held responsible for. My suggestion is that others on this forum who have caused me to write the original post should do likewise.
Deffo gonna call someone a bastard at some point.
