Aliadiere loses red card appeal

Middlesbrough striker Jeremie Aliadiere has lost his appeal against the red card he received during their 3-2 defeat at Liverpool on Saturday.
Aliadiere, 24, was sent off in the 85th minute for slapping the face of Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano.

A Football Association regulatory commission rejected the appeal and he will now serve a three-match ban.

Ex-Arsenal striker Aliadiere has also received an extra one-game ban as the appeal was considered frivolous.

So, does this mean he will miss the game against us?

I'm working so watching it at home with a beer or two to keep me company.

It was definatley a red card, he slapped him so it must have been silly to appeal. Weather or not Mascherano should have been sent off has nothing to do with it really, its what the referee sees.

i dont know about this one people
im going for 1-1 with speed to smash home the winning penalty :D

We need to go there all guns blazing. nothing to loose so why not go for it. Liverpool Vs Dingles anyone :D:D:D

Really hope we win tonight, I couldn't take losing to the world's most boring team who were lucky enough to produce their (trademark) 0-0 draw against us.

Kenny, Naysmith, Morgan, Stead, Speed, Kilgallon, Tonge, Sharp, Geary, Quinn
Subs: Shelton, Hulse, Armstrong, Martin, Ehiogu

Whose playing out wide, because Squinny can do it, and Tonge can and has done when Blackwell was assistant!

Oh well thats one Wembley dream over for this season :( lets now concentrate on climbing up that league! Play offs anyone? another trip to Wembley :D

At least we were creating chances under Robson..... Not saying I'd have him back mind.

We never looked like scoring yesterday, i know that it was a battling perfomance and there were some positives but i can't help looking at the way Bransley went to Liverpool and created chances and wonder why we failed to do the same.

Boro had a weak team out and they did look as though they were there for the taking but alas we created a couple of half chances all game.

Don't get me wrong, we were in no way disrgaced and were more then a little unlucky; but we never looked like scoring yet again and i can't help but feel we have missed a real chance.

Interesting pic of after match activities on BBC......

That is disgusting...

...Having a ginger fetish:D

I thought we did well yesterday considering. Thought they worked hard and the goal was unlucky.

But it's still obvious we need a quality midfielder, someone with some pace and skill and a point to prove. You can't blame Blackwell though with the squad he has inherited, that is full of has beens, who are here for the wrong reasons.

In all honesty we didn't deserve anything from the game but it was a shame a piece of luck like that caused the loss and prevented penalties which i would have fancied us in. Although we weren't all that good, the lads efforts were immense but a combination of bad luck and shite refereeing didn't really help us.

Tonge was poor and such a lazy pass cost us but the luck for the goal was unbelieveable. Naysmith again poor, KilagALLon was immense as usual and Squinny was decent but we weren't good enough for the win even though i thought Boro were there for the taking.

Oh well, roll on Saturday, another point ;)

I thought Naysmith had a decent game personally apart from one mistake - other than that I thought he was pretty solid.

Tonge was poor - as usual and his mistake lead to them having the opportunity for their goal.

Squinny had a good game again.

MOTM by far was Killa, absolutely immense.

it will take abit to turn it round from robson's era. blackwell has a side which is low on confidence and we are upping the tempo, we need to get the fitness up.

Can some one tell me why people thing Boro's name is on the cup- it will never happen

I think they have a chance myself, they raise their game against the big guns and i for one seriously hope them or another 'smaller' club win it
