As always, if you watch the SUFC ones on the club website, you'll need to log in. I'll upload the YouTube ones as and when the club post them, but if you find something before me, please add it to the thread.

Wilder, live at 0900 Thursday

I won’t see it live as I have a meeting but will watch the replay and add some notes

Injuries/Suspensions
  • "We've lost Gus for a couple of games, so short, medium and long term, we need a body in there (CM)"
  • He again said that we "gambled" on Tom Davies and that's why he got the injury, playing him too much, but "Good news, Tom is not as bad as first feared. He won't be available for Hull, but whether it's Derby or Portsmouth, he'll be available"
  • Kiefer Moore has had his op and will be out for "2 to 3 weeks". By my reckoning, 3 weeks from today takes him to a day after the Middlesbrough game, so back for Luton away, perhaps
  • JRS and Vini "will both play" on Friday. "They may start for 60 mins, or come on as impact players"

JTW
  • Tom Cannon - "All positive, looking to get that all tied up this morning. Super signing for us... [and we looked at it] from a data point of view and a character point of view. Young, hungry player, and we needed someone to play on a shoulder and stretch a game, which he does." Tom is a '"club signing" that everyone is onboard with, "not just for now, but the future", he "ticks an awful lot of boxes, if not every box". "I'm sure Tom Cannon will be done for Friday" v Hull. Talking about when a player comes with a decent fee, people will think "he has to win the open, land on the moon, be prime minister and get a hundred at Lords, but we feel comfortable with it as a football club"
  • Talking about BBD, "I like the idea of players who have point to prove"
  • On JJ Kenny, "it's an area that we are looking to improve, and he is one of those players on our radar"
  • Wilder hinted no others will have signed in time for Hull on Friday
  • Regarding Shea Charles, "we've lost Gus for a couple of games, so short, medium and long term, we need a body in there (CM)", not really answering whether he is the one
  • He thanked the board and co-chairmen for their support, not just on BBD and Cannon, but the whole approach to the window.

Hull
  • Usual stuff. Expecting a good Hull crowd, expecting Hull "at their best". Likes their manager. "We've got a really good home record and need to continue that"

General
  • On the battle for the top of the championship between the top 4, "I'd be surprised if someone broke into that top 4, but it can happen", mentioning Blackburn and Boro in particular. "It's good innit. Lots of credit to those teams around us. We've all done a good job so far....I think it'll continue all the way through. This is why we need to be at our strongest for the last 18 games. We can't afford any more of those first half performances [against Swansea]"
  • He again said the schedule, from Tuesday night away, to a Friday night game, is "ridiculous"
  • On Jack Robinson and his his recent 5th anniversary at the club, "He was a smart signing. It was tough as he had to fight past JOC. He's....I won't say old school, it's right school. he wants to win, he's a leader and he's aggressive. His attitude to everything is why he is the player that he is. We are delighted with what he's achieved here. He's been a big player". "I've spoken to Jack and a few other boys about their contract situations, about how we need to focus on where we are, but we will get to it, and he understands that and respects it"
  • Wilder mentioned that he is "an employee of the football club". Take note, Sausage. Back in your box ;)
  • Wilder said the new board members can "enhance" our chances of "getting into the Premier League and establishing ourselves there"

Hamer and CM position don't usually happen anyway

Sometimes difficult to get his quotes into context without typing everything word for word as he likes to have a verbal ramble here there and everywhere. I think he was really just trying to use Gus’ absence for further emphasis on us needing bodies in, and the question about Shea Charles, which he didn’t want to answer directly, was his opportunity

Good work!

Yeah he was asked directly about Charles and Kenny and talked around both of them

Surprised he wasn't asked about Choudhury at all

Nothing on a defensive replacement for Souts or any questions asked about it is worrying

Short clip of the presser from club YT channel

With some written words

From the Hull City club website:

Head Coach Rubén Sellés and forward Joe Gelhardt spoke to members of the press ahead of the fixture at Bramall Lane. Here is what they had to say:

Rubén Sellés:

“Yesterday we checked the game, checking what we need to do for the next opponent, checking what we have been working on during the two months together. It’s a game we wanted to win but didn’t. We reflected on it, and we know the things that we needed to do better, it was just about the application in those moments and continue in the way we want to work.” - Sellés reflecting on the loss to QPR.

“I am going to go there and try and get the three points - this is what I always do no matter who is in front of us. I think Sheffield United has a great manager and the team is solid and that’s why they’re in the top two. He have some good players and have a good tempos in the game. But we are competitive, and we will go there and try to make our game and try to be our very best which will give us chances to win the game.” - Sellés on Sheffield United.

“The away following has been really good and away at Millwall there was a big support. It’s important that the fans are with the team with games that are close to us. We will be together and there will be difficult moments of course in the game, but those are the moments we need them and feel their support.” – Sellés on the travelling support.

Joe Gelhardt:

"It's good to get off the mark for this club. Hopefully I can score against Sheffield United. Obviously the result wasn't what we wanted, but the good thing about the Championship is you can put it to bed and get onto the next one." - Gelhardt on scoring his first City goal vs QPR.

“It doesn’t get much better in terms of the teams you will play in this league. I am excited and looking forward to it. It should be a feisty game and I think as a player, those are the type of games that you thrive on and you want to be involved in.” - Gelhardt ahead of the game vs Sheffield United.

“He is a top guy. Very good manager and he goes into detail about a lot of things which is good. Seeing how Hull play suited me perfectly and him being a top guy just made it even easier when I was speaking with him and it was a no-brainer (for me to join).” - Gelhardt on City Head Coach Rubén Selles.

Team News:

Head Coach Rubén Sellés confirmed that goalkeeper Thimothée Lo-Tutala will be named on the bench against Sheffield United.

With Carl Rushworth returning to parent club Brighton & Hove Albion, Sellés backed Ivor Pandur ahead of the game and said Lo-Tutala will be the number two for the game at Bramall Lane.

"Tim will be on the bench. He has been working with us really hard and is a goalkeeper that is growing with the team," said Sellés.

"He will push together with Harvey (Cartwright) and Archie (Howard), who has come from the Under-18s and is supporting us in the games. I think we are covered in the goalkeeper department to support Ivor."

Confirming that captain Lewie Coyle will miss the Yorkshire derby against the Blades, the Head Coach provided further updates on his squad ahead of the fixture, including new signing Lincoln.

"Lewie is getting better, but he is not going to make the game. Abu Kamara is fully fit and will be able to play if we decide to play him. Those are the two main bits of news from us and there are no new injuries," explained Sellés.

“Kasey (Palmer) is doing well. The players in rehab like him and Charlie Hughes; the process is going according to plan. They are on time and the comments (from the medical team) are the boys are doing everything they can and are where they should be. We need to be patient with them and let them come back on the time they should do.

“Doğukan (Sinik) had a bit of rehabilitation on the grass. He is still not training with the team so not much more to comment on him. (Mohamed) Belloumi is still away doing his rehab in the Middle East and Liam (Millar) is with us," added Sellés.

"Lincoln is a versatile player that can find the spaces and deliver situations, but in reality, his last game was in December so we need to be careful with those things. He’s been training individually (before joining us), but he’s not fit.

"It was like Matt Crooks for example. It is about the balance between the hundred percent performance of the team, for the team, and in the team and the risk of injuries."
