Of course they did its absolute bollocks, covid rate amongst teams playing Sheffield United is running at about 75%, perhaps the WHO should be alerted regarding the new shefficron variant
Can I advise you changing your forum name to sober blade as you make more sensible decisions sober. Muchas Gracias 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍

As soon as we don't fancy a game just get it called off lads fuck this
"We play overlapping wing backs and Jack O'Connell isn't fit. We can't put a team out."

The EFL, useless as they are, have got to help United. These games have got to be rearranged on our terms. No QPR waiting for the ACN to be over.

You can replay games but not moments.

You can't play QPR at a time when they had 4 first teamers out again.

You can't play Preston when they had 7 first teamers out.

You can't play Hull when their manager would not have been in the dug out.

We'd all like to come out and say we beat the best at their best but this is about an accumulation of points. Nobody cares how you get them and if there are easy points to be picked up along the way then you dip your bread in and you take them.

Boro just cancelled on us. They didn't have an issue around integrity when they were taking 3 points off a depleted Blackpool.

For us, confidence was riding high and we had 3 teams I think we'd have made short work of in the circumstances. Boro likewise I reckon we'd beat.

But the next time we play these we will be on the back of a likely defeat away at Wolves and a very tough game against a resurgent Derby, having missed out on the confidence of beating 3 compromised teams in the run up to Boro. And what of Boro? Already they'll have Connolly borrowed from Brighton in their team. Who else will the transfer window lavish on them before we play them? Who might we have lost?

So don't talk to me about integrity. These teams have been allowed to screw us. Despite them being the ones with the outbreak, we are the ones heavily impacted.

The least the EFL can do is favour the wronged team in the rescheduling.

We have lost some fucking right revenue because of these postponements, 3 home games at the time of the year when bumper crowds add an extra wedge cash. All to be played now on a Thursday night in the middle of Christ knows. What’s worrying is we haven’t had an outbreak yet could be, if/when we do I hope we are as savvy as the other tactically cancelling c*nts. Beyond a joke, the lads are going to be in danger of injuries due to not being match fit.

Hilarious and so original... perhaps you should change your name to Mike the gullible twat, you genuinely think they can't put 14 players out?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂Not even talking about game you twat just having some banter

It's concerning, definitely.

Meanwhile, 4 out of 4 league games were played in Spain today, and no postponements for the full round on Sunday.

For those who don't think it's affected Spain, the case line is below.

Now.. anyone care to wonder how they're managing to get these games played?

How convenient...

So in essence a PR exercise to show that the EFL were trying to get the game on. Just 1 extra covid positive test and its called off.

No-one knows the rules and if they do they are allowed to bend them to suit. Boro have 10 players out all covid no injuries. We have 8 out 2 covid the rest injuries. How many did QPR have out? We wanted to play QPR and Boro didnt.

The so called rule that you have to play if you have 14 fit players, one a goalkeeper now appears to have been abandoned. Boro had this many available but the EFL have allowed Boro to cloud the issue with constant reference to 10 non playing staff being also affected. Does that now have a bearing on final decisions?

As for the instruction to recall loanees well that seems to have been ignored with the statement from Wilder that he couldn't very well phone up Steve Cooper and ask for his own player to come back for one game. Well yes you could have as the EFL had sanctioned it. Yet Wilder would have been happy to play new signing Connolley if he'd been allowed.

Would Boro have called this off if the 10 affected were fringe players? Highly unlikely. The constant reference to 7 of the 9 cases being part of the team who played against Blackpool tells its own story. It seems now you can decide if you want to play dependant upon the ability of those who have covid.

The simple fact is Boro didn't want this game on and paid lip service to trying to get it played. Contrast that with Derby, Blackpool and Millwall who have all went the extra mile to play football.

Nothing changes when it comes to the incompetence of football authorities. The EFL are not fit for purpose yet we knew that a long time ago over their handling of the Pigs attempt to cook their books. As usual the clubs with integrity like ourselves are the losers and the shady dealers continue to thrive.

What a load of old squirrel shit. Loaded in their favour. Only at Sheffield United, would say you couldn't write this in a book but you absolutely could.

Middlesbrough have had a sweet Christmas, 6 points in the bag, and call me a cynic but they wanted to play this game as they would be out on their feet playing us. Wilder is a coward.
Definitely think they would have tried a lot harder to get a squad together if Slav was still at the helm and only won 1 of the last 4 games.

Dave Bassett still comfortably our best manager in my life time.
Howard Kendall was the best manager that we have had in my life time so far.

Bassett is a close second and both a million miles in front of the current incumbent and Wilder the sumg faced wanker.

He has finally ended up at a club within the north east, just a couple of years later than he was a nats arse from walking out on us the last time (for more money).

Get the season suspended. Its taking the piss this is.

I’m not buying this player welfare bollocks, if it was that much of an issue they wouldnt take the risk of playing fixtures at all and they’d just suspend it until the cases were lower.

Wilder said they were testing every day….isnt it obvious that there’s going to be positive cases, regardless of whether they have symptoms, if they do that?

As far as I can tell, this variant isnt going anywhere, which means this bollocks is going to carry on and on and on.

About our outbreak, looking at it we've had McBurnie with it (isolation plus second absence), Mcgoldrick and now Slater and it's been contained quite well, just shows what can be done when you take the protocols seriously, I imagine these would have lead to postponements in teams that have had to cancel so far. Obviously we could be days away from an outbreak that decimates us but we have done well even WITH cases thus far

What's up George, dose the truth hurt? Fat smug faced wanker that was more than ready to walk out for more money, way before making it to the prem?

He is a fan, but is also driven by money and ego and the man can't be defended in this instance (if this was Blackpool tomorrow, he would be fielding at team to try and win the game).

Wilder you cheating fat cunt. Happy New Year.
Just playing devils advocate on all of this. Had the EFL forced the game and one of the boro players (given it’s currently running rife in their squad) has literally just developed covid during that day and it passed on to one or two of ours…would we be offering our points over? Of course we wouldn’t!! And if othefctess add me are playing the game, we are simply unprofessional…where’s the clubs stance on this?

Maybe the Efl should start doing random Covid testing of those players that their clubs have stated that they have tested positive.
Maybe this will make them think twice about fraudulent positive results ( if this is wot they're doing)🤷‍♂️
to postpone a game, the whole lot should be independently tested.
