The Wilder bashing on here is unbelievable. How is it his fault? Some people on here never cease to amaze me

Boro were pushing to get the match called off. It will be interesting to see if they can field a team for their FA cup game.

Even Hecky admits clubs are taking the the piss on this issue.

I don't get all this fixture pile up worry. We have 10 tuesdays between now and the end of the season with no fixture Yes some are reserved for the FA cup but not all and we will probably not go on and win it. These seem to be free 25th Jan, 1st Feb, 15th Feb, 1st Mar, 8th Mar, 29th Mar, 4th April, 11th April, 25th April, 3rd May.
I do appreciate that for those who don't live in Sheffield it is hard to get to games mid week My son is one who will not be able to make the games we have missed over Christmas But that is another issue.

It's known in educational circles that kids fake positive tests by putting fruit juice in the samples.

Is the testing independently supervised in football?

I really don’t understand how this is fair now. Middlesbrough have 9 players out and it gets postponed. We have 8 out and are more than happy to play. This is going to fuck us up when we have 4 games to fit into a packed championship schedule
Maybe I’m being harsh as not everyone has the same squad available as us but it seems like it’s us getting punished for going about things the right way

It will be like pre season again when we finally get to play another competitive game . None of our players will be “match fit “
What a pile of pants .

Shambles again, less than 24hrs before the game and they were fine to play on 29th scoring a 93rd min winner… suddenly they test positive and can’t play tomorrow.

Not blaming Boro, they clearly can’t be expected to play players who’ve tested positive. That’s the uk rules.

But surely they (and the country) should only be testing if they’ve got strong symptoms of a cold. If they’ve got no symptoms then people shouldn’t be testing. It’s testing the fit and healthy which has been a strange thing through this whole mess of a pandemic

Very frustrating. I suspect that had it not been for the obsessive testing, this game would have gone ahead as it would have been the case at this time of year pre-Covid. IE, these hese healthy athletes who probably have no symptoms or just the slight snuffles would have played without hesitation. We have to learn to live with this virus now that it is endemic. Otherwise, we are stuck with this nonsense every winter.
Bang on.

EFL need to get this sorted out. thats 4 of last 5 games our last home game was 28th November. if derby in their circumstances + injuries can find a team. then Preston, hull, Middlesbrough can find a team. EFL need to find a backbone & then use it. take the FA stance that derby had to suffer find a team or forfeit.

ridiculous can we postpone games when we have to play 3 times a week for rest of the season. because we cant extend it. because there is only 8 weeks between the championship play off final & 1st game of next season.

also all these rearranged games affect the fans as well because they will all be on Tuesday or Wednesday night. which will be more difficult for some fans to attend. than Saturday afternoon is

As per usual the Blades get the shit end of the stick, they piss up our backs and we fall for the preverbile egg under the hat and all other phrase you can think of.
One day just one day in this millennium someone will cut us some slack, maybe?? UTB

A disgrace.
It cannot carry on.
Omicron isn't going to dissappear next week is it?
Fuck the season off and start again 😁

If there's anything stinky about it I'm sure the club will lodge some sort of complaint. Get fuck all from it, but it's the thought that counts

Rubbish. The EFL need to clamp down on this nonsense or we’ll have this every winter at this rate.

Provide the proof that the players have covid via independent testing or the opposition is awarded a 3-0 win.

The EFL don't need to clamp down on anything.

They initiated this tragedy as farce when they insisted on their fecking stupid protocols.

I am certain as certain can be that every club that's postponed a game in the last couple of weeks had more than enough (actual) fit players to field close to their strongest line up.

I very much doubt the EFL have the resources to oversee this at 72 clubs.

EFL are to blame. Absolute shambles. Don’t see this being Wilder’s fault, we have one of the largest squads in the league, if this happened 3 years ago we’d be the same as back then we didn’t have a large expansive squad. Boro in the same posistion as we would’ve been hypothetically.

I’ve just read this back. It made sense in my mind.

Of course they did its absolute bollocks, covid rate amongst teams playing Sheffield United is running at about 75%, perhaps the WHO should be alerted regarding the new shefficron variant

Have not checked (can`t be arsed) but have we had the most games cancelled cos of this virus?
