The vast majority of rumours on here are started by McCabe, Bettis and Wilder to keep the fans happy.
They spend many hours, weeks and months sending Mitch and his scouts all over the land to look at players for whom we can make pretend offers.
We then alert the local and national media, pretending we’ve made offers, whilst quietly tipping off the player’s club that we don’t really mean it.
Wilder then gives interviews in which he repeatedly tells patent lies about interest in players. He refuses to give names because he’s mildly embarrassed about his part in this ongoing charade.
Even though these fabricated offers, which we’ve been making for years, never bear fruit, our club continues to indulge in this strange, time-consuming and futile activity to “keep the fans happy”. In fact the fans are livid; mad with rage and make that very clear by conspicuous foot-stamping tantrums in all forms of media, but our club has never noticed this, so it carries on regardless with the fake noos.
