I have voted no but probably shouldn’t have as I did ‘boo’ or words to that effect, Hammond.
Exactly, me too. At White Hart Lane when the twat needlessly handled whilst under no pressure whatsoever giving them the winning pen. I didn't boo, it's not personally concentrated enough, I just shouted something along the lines of "Oi, cunty Hammond, why don't you fuck off to another club, and take that shithouse of a manager who made you captain before you'd even kicked a ball, with you" - or words to that effect.

Needs fact checking......

After the last game of the season, think we lost 0-2 to Scunthorpe I couldn’t even be bothered to boo.
Adkins has managed to knock the stuffing out of me as it suddenly dawned on me we had no hope and could be in league 1 for many more years. The turnaround in my clubs fortunes since CW joined has been simply unbelievable. That’s why i’ll always be genuinely grateful and respectful towards CW no matter what.

I seem to have run into several people on this forum in the last day who seem to think booing players in our colours is acceptable.

No matter how much I’ve disliked certain United players I’ve never even thought about booing. Not at a sub (remember the Cresswell one well, pathetic), not when his names been read out and not even a performance. I’ve grumbled at full time and stuff but I couldn’t ever bring myself to boo even under Adkins. The occasional censored word would pop out, with multiple adjectives, but never a boo.

I find the thought of booing United players completely and utterly dumbfounding and completely detrimental to anything we’re trying to achieve. Nevermind even thinking about it with the lads and management we’ve got at our disposal now.

So I’ll take a vote, is it acceptable to boo one of your own?
I never boo our players, so I’ll park that straight away.

But ever since news of this potential move broke you have gone out of your way to wind up other blades about it.

Why can’t you accept that many, many blades fans find the thought of him playing for us repugnant? You obviously don’t agree with that viewpoint, fine it’s a forum for debate. But I have never before seen such sustained vitriol and goading towards our own supporters on a topic, perhaps bar Ched. It’s bordering on obsessional. What possesses who to be so aggressive with people you sit next to supporting the same football team?

And before you ask, an example of vitriol is you calling someone an bell end or ‘a thick cunt of the highest order’ because they disagreed with you.

Examples of goading is your comment on the thread about him not playing today, when you said ‘come home Garry’ and ‘the lads coming home’.

Michael Doyle got booed by the Kop and South Stand when he got sent off needlessly for stamping on someone. Possibly against Fulham? He wasn't popular at the time not least for his disciplinary record.

I might not boo, but I will shout "get off you useless twat" to an individual and I will boo my own team if they continually capitulate with no effort, no trying and no passion for the club as per the Parade of Adkins Shame. If everyone had indulged in a bit of happy clapping that day we might not have CW.

It’s not about disagreeing, it’s about people suggesting to boo the team that I find utterly utterly deplorable.

And it’s ‘Gary’*

I've booed the team but only after a shite performance, which I feel fully justified in doing seeing as i am paying to watch. I'd never boo an individual player, especially for matters like people are concerning themselves about with Madine.

Bury away virtually everybody booed and most told the players to fuck off when they came towards the away end at full time.

I’ve never booed anyone or anything,it’s a weird and childish thing to do.
I always wonder if the person knows what a complete twat they look, pathetic.

Imagine this.

Madine starts our next game against QPR. He has an absolute stinker of a match and the Blades fans start getting on his back. In the 80th minute we're losing 0-1 and he completely loses his rag and gets himself sent off. He leaves the field of play to a cacophany of boos and jeers which riles him up even more. He approaches the dug-out visibly fuming. He starts giving it back to the Blades fans by shouting and swearing and making wanker signs towards the Kop. Wilder comes on to the pitch to try to get him down the tunnel as quickly as possible but Madine pushes him away. He rips off his red and white shirt and throws it to the ground and then spits on it.

Would you join in with the booing if that happened? I think you definitely would.

Problem is, I'm reading through what should be a ridiculous scenario but I'm not finding it hard to envisage at all.

I just gave you a standing ovation and scared the shit out of my Mrs.

I started watching United in 1970.

IIRC I have booed our players as follows:

Curran when he signed for us in 82(?). I was quite definitely not alone.

The team v Oldham in 1988 when McEwan was sacked. I'd had a very drunken Scottish New Year and driven for 6 hours to witness a shambles of a performance (up their in our worst 10 ever games).

Owen Morrison - WTF was Warnock doing signing a pig, and a crap one at that!

Marlon King - I actually went to see Julian Winter about why we had signed a serial criminal with various wife beating / theft / handling convictions. Winter told me they'd done their research and his next trial wouldn't be an issue. It was.He was done for a violent road rage confrontation over a bloody ice cream!
A nasty nasty piece of work and his continued offending is IMHO, far worse than the one stupid mistake Ched made.

Hammond (Scunthorpe 2016). He gave us nothing then made it clear he had no time for the fans despite his 9 months of wage theft.

I will be mainly booing Madine. See Marlon King above.

Love to all....

Anyone in a Blades shirt on that grass is a Blade!
For those who want to boo, well, sort your fucking heads out or fuck off to S6, they embrace that shit.

Great, we have identified your triggers so now we can proceed to the next stage of your therapy.

You don’t love Gary Madine. You probably agree he is an utter cock (but I don’t want to rush you on this). You just can’t stand booers.

Here’s the thing. You can’t make everyone do what you want. I don’t like people booing, so I try to ignore it. I know I can’t make everyone do what I want.

Slagging people on here off and getting all hot under the collar is not the answer.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. As a person, just take 5 seconds of your time now to stand wherever you are and start booing, then sit back and realise what an absolute daft twat you’ve just sounded like. :)

Gary Madine has been an utter bellend in the past.

But Warnock doesn’t suffer fools and we know Chris does his work to check a players personality before signing them.

If he was a trouble causer would either sign him?

Keep this under your hat... but people can change.

Bury away virtually everybody booed and most told the players to fuck off when they came towards the away end at full time.

Remember that 1-0 defeat at Crewe?

Booing, rodding, wanker signing and insulting the players at full time was the highlight of the season.

I have never booed, will never boo. It's just something I don't do, unless I'm at a pantomime (and even then I would be a little cautious). Madine's name being announced over the tannoy might, just might, cause me to surprise myself. Otherwise no, I don't boo.
However, Eric Cartman , that's about the only thing I agree with you on the Madine thread, so don't take this as some sort of vindication from me. I especially don't agree with the sneering and aggressive tone you've taken on there when arguing with Blades in defence of a thug. There's no need for it.

Well said.

You're right, I will try and remember that the next time I boo the mrs for doing a crap job with the hoover.

Jesus mate, just did a one man Mexican Wave and now the cats legged it. Now I just need to find somewhere to build your shrine...

It's Bollox. he isn't coming to the Blades.
It's
A. Pigfiltration, stop rising to it.
B. See A.
C. See B.

Just say he did join us (which he isn't) no need to boo. Just simultaneously turn our backs each time he touches the ball.
Might need a Choreographer to orchestrate us all. but it should cross the i's and dot the t's.

It’s a very weird noise. Didn’t it originate from the Roman Empire in the amphitheater’s and such like for a displeasurable show?
Maybe so, it’s just funny really. Would you do it in front of the TV when watching a game ! Perhaps the collective boo is what makes it acceptable
