I think they will still have enough to do it. They clearly struggle going forward without Madine but their defence is excellent at this level. Port Vale will be a tough game but they will likely pick up at least a point and I think they will beat a half interested Peterborough. I can see them going up on goal difference with maybe 3 teams all ending up on the same points.

Last I looked Scunny were 18/1 to go up. With Swindon and Coventry to play that's very generous odds.

There is no history of animosity between the supporters of our clubs (as far as I can remember - and memory fails with age!) and the only reason anyone is discussing Bolton at all on this forum is that about 3 or 4 weeks ago a few of your alleged fans came on here being less than charitable about us.

We all have them and personally I would not ever judge your club by them.

I do not wish Fleetwood success over you or vice versa. But in all honesty I would be worried if I was a Bolton supporter.

However, I still think you are the most likely club to get the second automatic spot.

I think your crucial match is the away game at Port vale.

If you get anything at all from that you will go up because I think you will beat Peterborough and your goal difference is much better than Fleetwood's.

Think they'll still go up automatic which is probably their only chance as the shit-or-bust football required to win the play-offs looks far beyond Parky's mentality. Scunthorpe will likely win both their games though, and might overhaul that goal difference with Bolton if they end up on the same number of points. Also - if goal difference is same then it goes to number of goals scored? or number of wins? (either way then Bolton would be toast).

I think Bolton will just have enough. If the season ended in five games time, I'd be betting on Fleetwood, Scunny or Bradford. If they're in the play offs, I wouldn't expect Bolton to win them. If I was a fan, I'd be concerned about Parky going forward. He's a guy who seems to have built a stellar reputation in League one, out of some great cup runs. His style of play has always been atrocious. With what he inherited squad wise, - and the players you've been able to bring in - you should've done much better. Your now at the stage we were when Evans (best player in the league) got sent down in our first season. Hoping you can hang on. Difference is a lot of your high earners are off the wage bill in the summer - you can rebuild quicker if your still in L1(Obviously I wouldn't trust Parky to do this!).
Animosity with Bolton started with our complaining about ticket prices at the beginning of the season. A few of your fans have also made you out to be a fallen European giant, which has got up my nose a bit. Us being Yeovil; Bolton Barcelona. The Bolton posters in this thread are not indicative of these fans at all. The aforementioned posters have been MIA since they've started to falter a bit - this is no surprise. You know what, Bolton remind me of us when we first arrived in this division. Well, a year or so after the sexy football of the Ched season. Devoid of a plan, devoid of any really quality, eyesore football. Somehow near the top of the division but very much unconvincingly limping towards the end of the season, hoping to hold on and hoping to just clinch promotion, and that other sides won't catch us. All the while looking like doing absolutely anything but playing decent football or even scoring a goal. The sort of era when we relied on Creswell, Porter and Kitson for goals. Their main striker is Madine for crying out loud, how dire and depressing is that? He's awful. Their tactics are kaput, their manager is tactically awful and a has-been and they, like us are still massively over budget and if they stay down, they need to trim a god awful squad even further to be more financially stable. Sound familiar? If they fail to get out of league one at the first time of asking, they could be here for some time. Trust us, we'd know.
