If i order tickets online tomorrow morning will i be able to purchase more than one? I haven't used the website before

Maybe they will lose their right to tickets

Fans first in line want to sit with certain people who have less points

If the loyalty points didn't extend down to the next group those with the highest number would have to buy immediately or lose their right to use their loyalty points

It might sound silly a 30,000 point holder not being able to buy during the 20,000 days of purchase but their dilly dally-ing has a knock on effect further down the line.

If I was a high point Man Utd fan with an option to buy I would buy because if I didn't the chance to buy would be gone

So you're essentially blaming people who follow United up and down the country week in week out for people being too lazy to get down to the Lane before general sale?

What's the excuse going to be when all of us with 45,000 points snap up all the AFC Wimbledon tickets on day one?

The loyalty points system is fair and generally well administered. However, I would like to see the timeframes moved forward slightly so that people still aren't left to scramble for tickets in the week leading up to the game. I had a plan to travel over for Saturday's game but decided not to book flights a few weeks ago because I was worried about not getting a ticket on general sale (even though there was a well supported boycott in the offing ). Even if tickets were put on general sale a week earlier, thus moving the whole process forward a week, it would help. Instead I'm travelling over for the Rochdale and Southend games - although would have loved to have been heading to the macron on Saturday. Anyone with a ticket - I hope you enjoy yourself and are loud and proud.

This is exactly the reason timeframes need moving forward and in this day and age there is no reason why they shouldn't be.

No that''s not what I said

People aren't too lazy to buy tickets
They are prevented from buying them by the biggest loyalty points holders waiting to buy tickets until they can sit with their mates who have less points

Tickets sell much slower because of this and it has a knock on effect because further allocations are not asked for or less loyalty point holders cannot rely on getting a ticket so do not have time to make arrangements

I have access to my account and two juniors, who have season tickets, one is 12 the other 15 years old.

However, despite the fact that neither of them have a job and have never purchased a ticket in their lives, the 15 year old has more loyalty points than I do. So how does that come about, when I'm the silly bastard paying for the tickets?

Do you know what would help a great deal and prevent people delaying buying tickets so they can get sat together?

Unreserved seating.

Ideally it should be unreserved seating in the away end as often as possible. This has the additional advantage of allowing fans to stand up or sit down as they wish without any conflict - you're free to go wherever you want.

A lot of people don't go to their seats at away games anyway.

How many times did we actually fully sell out our away allocations last season?

I can't remember that many moaning on here throughout the season which makes me think the system may be working fine at this level.

How many times did we play shit last season?

I can't remember that many performances that weren't throughout the season which makes me think the system wasn't working at this level.

So anyone with 40000+ points should effectively lose out for not booking on the day? For someone with no or few points who goes away every now and then? Not much of a "loyalty" system then is it?

A longer time frame would be a better answer as suggested.

And I do realise newer supporters suffer but that's the way it is.

We had a playing system?

If the club didn't believe we'd need the full stand for the first game of the season, less than 100 miles away with a fanbase full of optimism, then that's incredibly naive, regardless of what speed people with high points by their tickets. The higher profile games that are near on almost always sell out, so to assume the first one wouldn't is stupidity of the highest degree.

For what it's worth I always buy mine on day one as I like to try and get nearer the back so I can stand if possible, but I disagree with the idea of forcing high point holders to buy early. They know the risk they're taking not doing so, whether it's waiting for friends, being on holiday, making late plans etc.

In terms of people not being lazy, i've seen plenty on Twitter and know a few myself who have missed out because they thought "meh, be reyt i'll go get em next week", now they're kicking off 'cos they can't get one.

Maybe the club heard about a possible boycott and held back when the avaiable ticket numbers were initially discussed?

Possibly so, but given that the initial allocation sold out 2 hours into general sale on Monday, i'd have thought they may realise we'd need to get the rest bought sharpish, based on how quick our tickets sold on GS for Chezzy, Barnsley and Donny last season.

Help me God, people can't get a ticket to a football match (of which there will be many this season) and teddies start flying out the pram. Just go home, realise you didn't get it and make sure you don't make the same stupid mistake again.

The loyalty system wasn't a problem in 2011/12 when most away games sold out really quickly. In case you hadn't noticed, we've been in this league for 6 seasons and pretty much getting shitter each year. That's why tickets aren't selling.

IF, we have a good season, this could be an ongoing problem.
If you are registered on line, you know when the tickets go on general sale and should plan accordingly.

Plenty of games we didn't sell out last season, more than we did. This only raises its head when non regular away goers miss out and moan.

Oh definitely. If we set off like a house on fire these sort of threads will become a by-weekly occurrence. Mind you, I'd probably not be the only who dies of shock if we do, so that'd be a few of the early buyers gone..

It was announced when one tier had sold out. With tickets on general sale

It was announced when another tier had sold out. With tickets on general sale

It was announced when an extra allocation had been added. General sale

It was announced when another allocation had been added. General sale.

So in conclusion, anyone who's griping about being unable to get a ticket really must be a bit fucking 'special'.
Almost as daft as those who forked out £30 for a 3rd division ticket in the first place.

Mine was £28 TD, so I must be a bit less 'special'. :)

Maybe Leonardo but many of our Premier League away games were not sold out because of the system
We then spent three years as a major Championship club gunning for promotion.
Away followings were down compared to what they would have been

I cant remember any Prem away games not being sold out
I dont think our away folowings have been down due to the loyalty points system its been the general apathy of spending 6 seasons in the 3rd division and higher admission prices

I'd just like to say that anyone who has bought a ticket to this game is a massive fucking scab.

I'd then like to apologise for swearing.

I'd then like to apologise for being derogatory about all of you who are boycotting the boycott

I'd then like to apologise for saying massive.

Followings have dropped since it came in because the status of the club as dropped significantly since it came in

I agree with the loyalty system, I've always said that.
But there are lots of games when they don't matter a toss because everyone that wants to go can go.

Bolton can house up to 7,000 away fans, but because of the loyalty system we wont sell anywhere near that amount.
In the "free for all" days of old all 7,000 would have gone without upsetting our most loyal supporters. But tickets often don't reach lower point holders or general sale until a couple of days before the game, this leaves most people unable to arrange travel, days off work etc.

The pigs would just sell them, they'd sell tickets to any fucker that wanted one and they'd all cheer and get giddy about selling out in two days. Everyone that wanted to go would get a ticket regardless of how loyal a fan they were. It would appeal to their delusions.

All I'm saying is that the club should use some common sense in determining when the system is necessary and when it's irrelevant. If we played Yeovil or somebody and got a 1,000 allocation it is necessary but for this particular game I feel it's irrelevant because there's plenty of room. And with more time to prepare the "lesser fans" might have snapped up the full allocation.

To me it matters not, I'm not interested in away games and have no intention of travelling with United anymore so I'm not a disgruntled fan that cannot get a ticket.
