This is exactly the reason timeframes need moving forward and in this day and age there is no reason why they shouldn't be.The loyalty points system is fair and generally well administered. However, I would like to see the timeframes moved forward slightly so that people still aren't left to scramble for tickets in the week leading up to the game. I had a plan to travel over for Saturday's game but decided not to book flights a few weeks ago because I was worried about not getting a ticket on general sale (even though there was a well supported boycott in the offing ). Even if tickets were put on general sale a week earlier, thus moving the whole process forward a week, it would help. Instead I'm travelling over for the Rochdale and Southend games - although would have loved to have been heading to the macron on Saturday. Anyone with a ticket - I hope you enjoy yourself and are loud and proud.
So you're essentially blaming people who follow United up and down the country week in week out for people being too lazy to get down to the Lane before general sale?
What's the excuse going to be when all of us with 45,000 points snap up all the AFC Wimbledon tickets on day one?
How many times did we play shit last season? How many times did we actually fully sell out our away allocations last season?
I can't remember that many moaning on here throughout the season which makes me think the system may be working fine at this level.
It might sound silly a 30,000 point holder not being able to buy during the 20,000 days of purchase but their dilly dally-ing has a knock on effect further down the line.

I can't remember that many performances that weren't throughout the season which makes me think the system wasn't working at this level.

No that''s not what I said
People aren't too lazy to buy tickets
They are prevented from buying them by the biggest loyalty points holders waiting to buy tickets until they can sit with their mates who have less points
Tickets sell much slower because of this and it has a knock on effect because further allocations are not asked for or less loyalty point holders cannot rely on getting a ticket so do not have time to make arrangements
If the club didn't believe we'd need the full stand for the first game of the season, less than 100 miles away with a fanbase full of optimism, then that's incredibly naive, regardless of what speed people with high points by their tickets. The higher profile games that are near on almost always sell out, so to assume the first one wouldn't is stupidity of the highest degree.
For what it's worth I always buy mine on day one as I like to try and get nearer the back so I can stand if possible, but I disagree with the idea of forcing high point holders to buy early. They know the risk they're taking not doing so, whether it's waiting for friends, being on holiday, making late plans etc.
In terms of people not being lazy, i've seen plenty on Twitter and know a few myself who have missed out because they thought "meh, be reyt i'll go get em next week", now they're kicking off 'cos they can't get one.
Maybe the club heard about a possible boycott and held back when the avaiable ticket numbers were initially discussed?
The loyalty system wasn't a problem in 2011/12 when most away games sold out really quickly. In case you hadn't noticed, we've been in this league for 6 seasons and pretty much getting shitter each year. That's why tickets aren't selling. No that''s not what I said

Possibly so, but given that the initial allocation sold out 2 hours into general sale on Monday, i'd have thought they may realise we'd need to get the rest bought sharpish, based on how quick our tickets sold on GS for Chezzy, Barnsley and Donny last season.
IF, we have a good season, this could be an ongoing problem.
If you are registered on line, you know when the tickets go on general sale and should plan accordingly.
Plenty of games we didn't sell out last season, more than we did. This only raises its head when non regular away goers miss out and moan.
Mine was £28 TD, so I must be a bit less 'special'.It was announced when one tier had sold out. With tickets on general sale
It was announced when another tier had sold out. With tickets on general sale
It was announced when an extra allocation had been added. General sale
It was announced when another allocation had been added. General sale.
So in conclusion, anyone who's griping about being unable to get a ticket really must be a bit fucking 'special'.
Almost as daft as those who forked out £30 for a 3rd division ticket in the first place.
I don't know why I'm even sticking up for those without tickets, I've got my fucker.A bit....![]()
Maybe Leonardo but many of our Premier League away games were not sold out because of the system
We then spent three years as a major Championship club gunning for promotion.
Away followings were down compared to what they would have been
Followings have dropped since it came in because the status of the club as dropped significantly since it came in
