Is there a customer services department?
Only joking but the service was better when it first started.
Time the club put some pressure on for the benefit of the fans.
To the best of my knowledge the club are not involved in the running of it but by it is poor in the age of the present technology.

I've had the problems with the commentary cutting out every 5 minutes since the start of the season, and that with a brand new laptop (on Chrome) but last night tried listening through the iPad and it worked perfectly. Didn't cut out once.
Does it work on iPad? Thought it was available through Flashplayer - which isn't supported on iPad?
 
Is everyone cc-ing John Garrett in with their correspondance?

If he's not aware of the problem, he cant crack on with helping to pressurise for a solution.

There's an iPad app called Photon which supports flash sites. It's a little slow and cumbersome to use with regard to signing in to BladesPlayer, but it does the job. I found that it automatically shuts down after some time of inactivity so I just tapped the screen every ten minutes or so just to remind it that I'm there and it works perfectly. It also works on my iPhone although I've only used it through wifi, I don't know if the 3G signal would be strong enough for it to work.

The issues are being passed on. You'll probably not get a fast and direct response from JG, as there's only so many emails/queries people can deal with at once... Collate all the issues/complaints and present them together on the other hand, and it carries as much weight and is easier to deal with.

Send me anything you want passing on and I'm happy to pass on/get a response for you.
 
I did notice the other night on Twitter that Notts County were suffering from problems with the Player Platform and they informed their fans that it was a network-wide issue.

Basically chaps, the T&Cs are worded to try and limit their responsibility for the shoddy service.

Whether they'd stand up as unfair contract terms, I'm sure a resident legal expert will be along to advise...

I'm going to cancel then write to the club.

Surely even if hey are unfair contract terms it doesn't matter. The worst hey would be culpable for is allowing you to leave your contract early.

Whether the club have a chance of getting out of their contract due to e shoddy service, is something hat probably won't be in the T's and C's given to us lowly people...
 
I have just emailed Blades Player to cancel my subscription. Awaiting a reply.

I have also attempted to email John Garrett at SUFC to highlight the issue further.

Looks like i'll be Mountain Biking in the snow here in Switzerland tomorrow during the game

In fairness, I got a very useful response and whilst there are others within the club that are dealing with this he has acted as the go between, put me in contact with the right person and tried to help resolve the issue.

His feedback since that earlier post has been very positive and as Linz said earlier in this thread, the issue isn't just restricted to the Blades, but to fans of other clubs.

What are you going to do with yersen during the match without the player?
I thought you were listening more to the opposition common taters to get an alternative perspective.
 
Because I cancelled my subscription a few months ago, it ran until the end of my current period. Just had the renewal notice. But can't decide whether to renew or not.

It appears that the service is back to "normal" which means it has a slight delay (up to 5 mins from what I see in teh shoutbox), but the problems of earlier in the season with it dropping out seem to have been resolved.

Anyone else experiencing problems still?
 
Update: The updated Football League App for the iPhone allows you to log in to your BladesPlayer account and get live commentary on your iPhone. I presume this is the same with Android.

Not sure how new this feature is, but it certainly means that you can be sat in a boozer and listening to the game rather than in front of the computer
 
Last commentary v MK Dons the commentator was calling Forte, Poleon and vice versa. I think it was his first visit to Bramall Lane, so I'll excuse him, but not the person who asked him to commentate!!!! Sort it out, if I'm slagging someone off for missing a one on one I want to be sure it's the correct player FFS.

I've been able to listen to games on my Galaxy S3 directly from the Blades Player site.

Was quite nice actually, attaching my phone to my Pure Highway and listening to us beat Colchester while driving in London a few weeks back.
