OK, that's good but it does go to show what a bunch of lying bastards they employ in their "customer service" department. If the service is experiencing difficulties, if they have a problem then admit it but the stock standard bullshit responses from them have been both embarassing and deceitful.

The service is awful truth be told, and if there were any other ways of listening to the games I would walk away from this crappy provider tomorrow.
 
So for those of you thinking of saving yourselves a fiver a month (or whatever it is) where will you go for highlights? Are they generally freely available online somewhere?
I rarely listen to games (being 8 hours behind GMT and having 4 noisy kids) but usually use Bladesworld for the highlights.

BTW, who gets the money for it? Does any of it go to SUFC?
 
I haven't had this email either, despite firing off a volley of complaints last weekend. To be honest, I don't WANT a free month at the end of the service, because that will be in pre-season when there's fuck all to report on anyway. I find that a little bit slimey. Why not refund a month's worth, i.e. the month that we've had to put up with sub-standard service? In fact, that has really annoyed me.

I also agree with Princess Anne's Dog about the customer service. I appreciate that the people on the end of the emails/telephone are simply doing their job and no doubt reading from a script, but someone somewhere is effectively telling them to ignore the complaints and simply issue bullshit responses. It's taken them from the start of the season until now to sort this out (if indeed it does actually work today) so they have either ignored us the whole time or they have known about it and been working on a fix, whilst lying to us via their CS agents. It stinks.
 
BladeinBC regarding highlights my eldest lad has an app on his iPod where he watches the highlights. He tells me it's called "FL football". It costs about €1.50 a month.
Unfortunately I enjoy the live aspect of the commentary too much.
When it's not live (even a few minutes behind) then it's just not worth it.

Another thing is the way they renew subscriptions without giving you an option.

Does it keep cutting out for anyone else? I'm prepared to believe that this is just me, but I can't trust it of late.
 
Mine has cut out a couple of times today, click on the Bury feed and then back to United and it returns, which is what was happening a few weeks ago. Which was my fault according to C/Services.
Mine is two minutes behind the radio commentary, not good enough really is it. I think I'm calling it a day to be honest

Yeah, this was happening to me a few weeks back and also today. It's easily fixed, but it's annoyign losing 10 seconds of comms while you faff about.

As I say, I am prepared to believe that this issue could be a local one, unlike the massive delays and stuff.
 
I know there were probelms earlier this season, but I still can't get match commentaries. Is anybody else still having difficulties or does anyobdy have any idea how to get the thing working?

I have to say that I think the service from B/P is dreadful.
Often I cannot get the sound on but can get the commentary from the other side loud and clear.
The commentary on the Blades still keeps dipping out on occasions.
The scores do not get updated and often on our section the score remains the same, eg 0-0 for a long time v Notts County after we had scored.
The O/S imho is not much better either.
My family who love next door have the same problem so it is not my computer.
Using a dongle while away has the same problem.
It all points to the service, which is not as good as it used to me.

Can anyone please let me know how your feed for the Notts County game was??

I turned on to find no commentary whatsoever for the entire first half and then intermittent commentary during the second half.

In 2010, when I renewed, as agreed when they rang me, the renewal confirmation from Premium TV said:-

Amount: £34.99 Annual repeating subscription to Player, for only GBP 34.95

In 2011 and 2012, there was no phone call, but they took the subscription again. and it was impossible to tell who I was apying, or what for, based on this:-

30 May 2012 POS 4029 29MAY12 , PM-FLI-GBP , FELTHAM GB - 35.99

The acount they took the money from still exists, but it's dormant and empty, so they made it £35.99 overdrawn, which wouldn't have happened if they'd spoken to me. There was no e-maail confirmation in 2011 or 2012.

Subsequently, I had four separate e-mails in two days, telling me:-

a) As of 01/08/2012, the subscription will be billed at £42.99, an increase of £3
b) As of 01/08/2012, the subscription will be billed at £37.99, an increase of £2
c) As of 01/08/2012, the subscription will be billed at £4.49 per month, an increase of £0.20
d) As of 01/08/2012, the subscription will be billed at £37.99, an increase of £3

I could probably live with the incompetence, but I can't get any commentary of any description, so it's very frustrating.

I've been busy and have only just got round to trying sort it all out, which I shall attempt to do in the next few hours.
 
I wonder when I'll get this promised free month, I started paying monthly going on ten years ago (about £4 a month) and haven't had any correspondence whatsoever since, so god knows when my subscription period actually ends. I think they've actually put the price up in that time to £5 a month and not told me as well. They just started taking a higher amount from my account.

The game on Saturday kept cutting out every couple of minutes until I clicked the button to listen to Sheffield United commentary and then it would kick in again ten seconds later. It really is a rubbish service.

You only get the free month if you're an annual subscriber.

I pay monthly and my membership expires and renews on the 11th of every month, what they've done is extended my membership from 11th September through to the 11th of November so I don't pay this month. They notified me by e-mail.
 
Is it just me, but the coverage tonight is crap, it keeps cutting out. This always occurs at the wrong moment as well, really annoying.:mad:

The delay in updating the results page is poor.

Well at least there is no delay in the transmission, which was shocking last Saturday.

If only there was another alternative for listening to matches.

I think only some of us get the cutting out, which is weird. Mine was quite well behaved tonight for the first half, but in the second it's already gone ten or twelve times. Infuriating.

It;s the same in IE as Chrome too, so I'm not sure its at my end. But I do know that only some of us suffer with it, unlike the delay which affects everyone.
 
I can't login since they started their recent promotion. I have re set my password but still can't login. Anyone else having similiar problems? I have complained
 
I've had the problems with the commentary cutting out every 5 minutes since the start of the season, and that with a brand new laptop (on Chrome) but last night tried listening through the iPad and it worked perfectly. Didn't cut out once.
 
I shall be cancelling this week. I've had enough. Means I won't be able to listen, but I've had enough of it
 



A few years ago I was living down south, so paid for Bladesplayer. It was poor sound quality, kept cutting out and normally ran on a ten minute delay. Why am I not surprised that ten years later, mankind having sent a machine the size of a small car to Mars, having a marketing company send a man to jump from a balloon on the edge of space, with our ability to watch live television on our mobile phones.... can Sheffield United F.C. not make arrangements for fans to catch a reliable radio feed on their computers at home?
