We’re also slowly seeing a backlash from some opposition fans regards all this national positivity towards us.

On the Everton forum they say that they are only 3 points behind but there’s no talk in the media of Everton reaching the Champions league.
One fans says “Sheffield United are currently the media darlings”

Other fans make comments like “Sheff United are decent and play decent football but the media make it sound like they play fantastic Barcelona style football”

I’d rather this as they see us genuine competition other that one season promotion wonders. The adulation will wear off and it will only take a run of dodgy reviews from the pundits will return to type.
 
It's great to see, better than some of the faux apologies that have floated about.

Like Durham the Dunce saying we have improved with signings since he made his comments.

Team (on the pitch together at some point) vs Ipswich last season - Hendo, Bash, JOC, Egan, Baldock, Stevens, Norwood, Lundstram, Fleck, Sharpe & Didzy.

Who knew that McBurnie for Didzy would turn us from relegation to Europe contenders eh!

These are the comments the common pessimistic Blades fan are not use to which is what we have got to learn to ignore. Its quite alien. I think lot of fans that have had their team in the PL for years take it for granted. If they dipped down to League 1 they would soon change their outlook.

I always think the best response to these comments is "You will never be Champions of League 1".
 
all that we are and have achieved in the large part is down to the core of the promoted team

its this thats confounded the critics, they had no idea what quality we possessed in Baldock Basham O Connell Stevens Fleck Sharp
players of obvious prem quality now they shine in every game.

We had in our ranks prem quality players who can pass and move and with assured touches take people on and get round them
Theres times when our play has been sublime, as good as anything seen on any prem pitch
 
This must be the thing that really sticks in the craw of our porcine neighbours.

Not the bigger gates. Not the higher league position. Not the better players. Not the bigger transfer fees. Not having the best manager ever.

Oh well, maybe it is that as well 😂
