Born Rovrum, lived in many places, but when looking for a team went to each of our locals Rotherham, Donny and THEM.... then last was a trip down the lane, I knew I need to go no where else I was smitten, felt at home and knew forever I would be a blade, my kids all born in Watford, 7 year old daughter converted blades kit for Christmas, twins are only two but I am working on it.....

Born in Dundee, Scotland, asked my Dad who I should support, he said Sheffield United. He's from Cheltenham but went to Sheffield Uni (where he met my Mum) and watched all the local sides. He told me he didn't like the fans at the Sty or Rotherham and only felt at home at the Lane so started watching the Blades. He was lucky, he got to see Currie, Woody and Eddie. He's been going ever since!

Born S2 , went to school at Norfolk Comp , left Sheffield early 80's , moved back to Sheffield mid 80's spell in the big smoke followed .
Been living in Dublin since , son was a fan of Chelsea at the time , he was only a chabby then mind .
Took him to see them at the lane , changed to the Blades there and then , since then he's been to Wembley a few times ( maybe that's the reason fuckin jinx .)
And BDTBL loads of times .
Every time he comes in from work when United are playing his first question is how are we doing .
Still has the premier shirt with Jags name on it folded in his draw .

Brought up in North Yorkshire in the 50's and 60's. Went to whatever was the best local game with mates at Ayresome Park, Roker Park or Elland Road but never really felt a connection.

Came to Sheffield Uni in 71 and before I came a guy already here took me to the Cardiff game. Stood near the pavilion and had never experienced the like.

Lived here for 6 years 71-77, what brilliant timing, and never missed a game. Have lived in South Warwickshire for nearly 40 years now but always came when work allowed.

Now I'm retired and never miss a game (200 mile round trip). I'm an old fart on the halfway line in the SS, shouting at opposing managers and linos at the appropriate moment!

Doesn't time fly. Grayblade is trying to get me to love Duffy but I've always liked my meat rarer than that - Fleck is my sort of Blade.

Ken Jnr was born in Worcestershire
(He prefers Hendo's, btw)
Allus a Blade - it's genetic
His first initiation was a Blades Baby Grow, in front of the TV watching (gurgling and filling his nappy) the Blades DO Man U in the FA Cup when Jamie Hoyland and Glynn Hodges scored.

I was born and bred Sheff
Mrs Ken's from Warwickshire - and even she had season tickets when we were courting ;)

No Fannyin' abart, 'ere, tha' kno's

The first Blades match I took my father (a Portadown "Shamrocks" Town fan) to. Always the gentleman, he opened his hands to clap Giggs goal. Sat in the Kop, I advised otherwise, he obliged. He was on his feet like the best of us as we scored. He still asks the Blades score every Saturday when I ring them.

That Cardiff match remains with me after 45 years, I can see it, taste it and smell it. I can remember the scenes outside getting onto the kop, i can remember a Cardiff fan talking to me at the railway station. What a first match to attend, we won 5-1 gained promotion and the following season drew them at home in the FA cup 3rd round and lost 2-3

Born in Nether Edge, lived in Killamarsh most of my life, lived in Chesterfield the past 7-8 years but just bought another house in the Marsh, the same one my uncle bought when it was 1st built! so should be back before Xmas! he is also a blade.
My dad is a blade, born n lived in Beighton until his 20s and then moved to Killamarsh, where he still lives.
My brother used to support Chelsea!! dont even ask! now he's a blade, thank fuck, he was born in Jessops and also lives in Killamarsh, next door to my parents.
My stepson is a Blade, born in Chesterfield but lived most his life in Killamarsh, where his dad used to live(also a blade), and his grandparents live(also blades), his ambition is to play for United and was previously at the academy.
My missus isn't interested in football much, but she is from rovrum so that's understandable I suppose, but she does attend the lane with us on rare occasions and always asks "have we won?", so could be classed as one of us.
Finally, I have a daughter that's almost 1, she is a blade, she doesn't get a choice!!

Some wonderful accounts of how some of our fans became fans of this great club. Well done OP.

Born in a different hemisphere but my little buddy at Dore Infant school was a Blade. And that's all it takes.

born in Rotherham, moved to Sheffield when I was 1
no football connections in any of my family
given free tickets to United & Pigs when at Nether Green School
as other have said went to Pigsboro and it was cold & nasty
BDTBL was warm & friendly, just wrapped round me and that was it - 1962 Len Allchurch
Now have 3 boys all committed Blades and a wife that has to be a Blade :)
