We're on the march,
With cloughies army,
So grab your vodka,
And bring your charlie.

Repeat.

Heard this doing the rounds quite a bit recently, or lyrics which are incredibly similar. I actually found myself laughing when i heard it.

Why is this thing about fighting top of the agenda of our weekend. Obviously some fascination about said subject. Surly we should still be talking about the glory of the players, fans and the club as a whole instead of some minority pillocks who were less than 0.2% of the day.
MOVE ON.
Dude try sitting next to it with your son and also see the terror on the faces of other little uns close by and then have the same attitude. It ruined our day out we had to leave at 4-2 cos it was getting proper out of hand where we were - no security whatsoever. Overshadowed everything

I'd certainly want more than that to get a party going. A couple of Ocean Colour Scene CDs and a bag of Doritos for starters.

It would have been incredibly interesting if there had been sniffer dogs around yesterday, as I think a lot of the anti-social atmosphere was caused not by drink, but by cocaine - which isn't exactly known for not making twats of otherwise reasonable people.

Not commented on this up to now as didn't really see much trouble, apart from a bit of argy-bargy the block down from us which looked as if it was to do with standing/asked to sit. However, at numerous times through the day as I was wandering around the area I noticed on numerous occasions the smell of cannabis/skunk (outside St Josephs, on the roundabout opposite, at The Green Man, Wembley Way, outside the ground, in the gents). Which isn't a problem in itself (from a nutter point of view it might mellow them out a bit) but I also observed plenty of the err, rowdier element both at the Green Man and outside and inside the ground who had without doubt been partaking of stimulants of the alkaloid variety (cocaine, crack). This wasn't one or two exhibiting the signs either, but quite large numbers suggesting this was something planned and organised for the day. Surprised SYDS didn't pick up on this before.

What is there to stop drug use in and around football stadiums? There is none. I have not once ever seen a sniffer dog at a football match.

Therefore the only way they could get caught is if they get arrested, and it was found then. The threat of a sniffer dog even if it wasn't used might at least make a small minority of those who dabble think twice.

If police officers smell drugs on you, they have reasonable grounds to search you under the Misuse of Drugs Act; ditto if you seem to be behaving under the influence of said drugs.

I've seen them a couple of times - once at White Hart Lane and once somewhere really unexpected like Colchester or somewhere really random like that.

MOVE ON.
Maybe you were not near it. STAMPING ON PEOPLE. Really spoiled the day for me.

Perhaps cool clint and alcoblade were the ones that started it and dont want no retrospective action taken against them:eek::p:p:p:p
hooligans you two are

Not doubting what you saw mate, but what sort of life-form behaves like that? Well mankind obviously. Animals don't descend to this type of depravity, because that's exactly what this is. Stamping on someone? Over what? I find it beyond appalling to think that anyone, Blade, Wendy, or anyone for that matter, feels they have to injure someone with the potential for murder a possibility.

I'm sorry there are those who consider this an intrusion on the game, but does anyone seriously expect those of us who try our best to lead lives that don't negatively affect others to stand by and say nothing? FFS!!! Is that the best wisdom you can offer? That when we see an act of brutal hooliganism we should pass by and let this kind of criminal behaviour take place? I hope that if this ever happened to you or yours that those close by would be courageous enough to step in and help you.

Actually, if you read my comments on the matter, agree with me or not I've given it far more thought than the lazy analysis you've just applied to me - or the lazy analysis applied by those who simply want everyone banning who they saw fighting, quite possibly in self defence, quite possibly trying to seperate people. I've been involved in all those type of situations before and some would have me banned for it it seems.

It was similar after thje recent high spirited celebratory pitch invasions, when some were desperate to see everyone banned for encroaching onto the pitch. I maintain, some people are desperate to feel outraged.

UTB
Oh come on Alco, it was a bloody joke and if you took it serious then apologies....just a flippant remark delivered in humour. fuck me :(

I could debate this one till the cows come home if you want though.

I was with my 9 year old grandson but we were protected by about 6 rows between us and the violence. There was a guy with a very young girl around 6 year old and they were next to it. At one point the father was so angry he had a word with one of the criminals, must have terrified the child. Surely the thugs are guilty of child abuse ?
I'm not sure how people could find incidents like that no big deal eg "move on"

Alcohol, cocaine, crack, wizz, It's all a bit pathetic not to mention boring

I'm pleased to say that none of this occurred near me and I was not aware of any of the frankly stupid goings on.

Apparently the club are keen to know what happened and Emma Wylie is collating the information that people are providing.

Likewise.

I'm really sad to read all this crap.

I thought our fans were exceptional on the day as I only saw one dickhead have a swing at a Hull fan after the game and 1 in 33,000 aint a bad reflection.

This thread has taken a little of the gloss off, but the day will stay with me forever as the final confirmation that we have our club back, and the roller coaster is on a steep incline.

Same here ,i had my 8 year old son with me ,my 2 uncles ,cousins the lot ,we never luckily saw anything but we heard the wankers wankers bit and thought they were calling it the stewards for taking a blade out ,we now know that wasnt the case ,the stewards were taking bellends out.
Unfortunately success brings consequences with our support ,everytime we have a big following something happens its a fact and until we do something about it ,i dont know what by the way ,its going to continue to happen.I hear the word minority used alot with our supporters but from what i saw before and after never mind what i didnt see during the game its definately not a minority ,its more than that

What part of 'spoiled the day for me' makes you think I saw anything positive in what happened? There was potential for serious injury or even death. And the stewards did nothing for about 15 long minutes.

You must be confusing me with someone else.

I said I didn't doubt your description. I then went on to berate those who were dismissive of this type of behaviour. I didn't once suggest you agreed with this behaviour, and to reiterate, I have no recollection of saying you approved of this thuggish behaviour.

I think its an absolute disgrace to football that fans want to fight each other, nevermind fans who support the same team. i saw two fights from a distance and couldnt believe it was happening. credit to the other supporters who made their feeling known by chanting "w***kers"

Yes I saw both fights happening either side of us.

A number of fans were chanting wankers to the ones fighting but that particular incident seemed to become a rather brutal scuffle. The other fight I saw was more pushing and arguing and the people involved were eventually removed.

I must say I thought the stewards at the match were shit and not very helpful at all. Especially when one of the stewards almost sent me completely the wrong direction to where I was meant to be sat.

First post as LittleDanny - Formerly Stinkyblade from days of yore! Or Southampton away Linz...

I was in 140 and I tried to get away from it all at the bars at the bottom and copped a left hook off that bald guy. I was more concerned about my specs in all fairness but it was totally unprovoked. I was just an easy target as I am miniature and was hardly going to fight back. Bust lip later, all is well, he was meant to be the 'adult' with his kids and he was a disgrace as were the minority that set out to cause trouble.

There isn't an icon for shakes head in dismay but that is ridiculous, sorry you got caught up in it.

I get that this bloke was drunk and moronic but what was his gripe, did he say anything that gave a clue why he was windmilling people ?

No idea. Another bloke was being dragged out and I was questioning the nature of it and I think that was his excuse. Irony was, I confronted him on concourse and he actually apologised. Probably as he was being escorted out haha!

it wasnt so far from where we were sat, luckily enough far enough away not to get caught up in the
stupidity, the incident seemed to grow out of control, about 30 were kicking the living daylights out of each other and security were nowhere to be seen for a good 5 mins.

matches of the stature of an fa cup semi final are always going to bring out idiots and those who will rarely turn up at the Lane on a tuesday night to watch us take on the likes of Gillingham, (not meaning those who live away from Sheffield), they probably get out once in a blue moon and are the type who cant take their beers, mixed with sunshine, whatever else and the emotion of such an important
match.

I was as gutted as the next Blade when we lost on Sunday but my heart could have burst out of my chest with pride, i saw a great response from the majority of fans, a superb bond between the players on the pitch and the supporters in the stands and with the likes of the Prince and Jim Phipps now onboard a bright future.

Very little consolation I know, but the police cautioned him - bizarrely for headbutting the steward, but no more. A look at the CCTV would show that was the least of his indiscretions. I only got caught up in the end of it as it spiralled into my row (37) but his kid was at the side of me looking absolutely petrified.

It was the fact he was with his kids that annoyed me most as well. It isn't really a consolation because it could have been avoided and he has given his kid a reason to not wanna go watch us again.

Thanks for the reply, though!
