Has anybody heard blackie give an interview about tuesday yet?? haven't seen or heard anything just wanted his take on things

Don't think he's said anything Dave. He let Ellis do the talking. I presume you've hear that, but here it is if not .....

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/8269500.stm

I said in a different thread that he would be better keeping his mouth shut than spouting some positive garbage about a strong comeback or something. Conceding 10 in the last 4, 4 points from the last 12, losing to a team that hadn't won and conceding 3 at home to a team that hasn't won and lost 4 nil at home on Saturday is simply unnacepatble to probably all Blades fans. I'm sure he knows this and that's why he has said nowt.

Why is it unacceptable?

What right have you to expect more?

Disappointing, yes of course it is, but unacceptable it is not !!!

But Swansea had won. They beat Coventry 1-0 in August, and have lost only one of their last last eight games.

So you are telling me with the squad of players we have that these kind of results are acceptable???

Taking 4 points from 4 games against Wednesday, Ipswich, Swansea and Coventry. All teams that are mediocre at best and we should be beating. I consider Sheffield United to be a promotion pushing team, so does Kevin Blackwell, Sam Ellis and Kevin McCabe. As do the vast majority of Blades fans. If we are a team pushing for promotion we simply cannot be dropping points left right and centre to shit teams.

We get turned over by a piss poor Swansea side. Oh no, it's fine just a little disappointing. Shambolic defending against a crap Coventry team allows them to knock 3 goals past us. Acceptable? Of course, just a minor disappointment.

Then comes Ipswich. Glorious Ipswich. Sitting rock bottom of the table with a -11 points difference. No wins so far this season. Tonked 4 nil at home in their previous game. They come to Bramall lane and infront of 28000 fans they stick 3 in the net. Now that's promotion chasing Blades at home to rock bottom of the table Ipswich. They score 3 and we escape with a very lucky draw. Our blushes are saved. Unnaceptable? Nah, it's just disappointing.

We are talking about a first 11 that is capable of beating any other first 11 in the league. Regarded by many (including myself) as a top 4 side and with a team that is arguably the best in the league. We want to get the premiership. In the last 4 games we have taken 4 points from crap opposition. Our defending has been shambolic, individual errors rife, effort lacking, players pedestrian, tactics awful. Now IMHO only a mug would not consider this situation unnaceptable.

Oldbalde I apologise. Maybe I should have said without a home win. Regardless of me mixing up a stat, it takes nothign away from my point.

your point was that we lost to a team that hadn't won a game previously. It was pointed out that they had won a game previously. If that didn't detract from your point, what would have?

:)

Maybe I'm a mug, but I'm also a supporter of SUFC, or to put it another way, a customer.

The owners of the club who provide the finance have the ultimate right to decide what is acceptable and what is not.

As a customer you may consider the situation is unacceptable too, in which case you are perfectly at liberty to take your custom elsewhere as you would if a bank or a shop was offering an unacceptable product. Maybe Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea or Arsenal can meet your demanding standards?

Me, I am disappointed. I hoped for better but at the moment it is not to be.

But my big advantage over you is that I have a life and a sense of perspective. If Utd lose it is disappointing but as I have said many times before my life goes on.

The sun still rises, my family are well and the world is well.

The trouble with you appears to be that you lack the perspective to treat football for what it is. It is a GAME, a leisure time activity. It is not life or death and should not be treated as such.

I suggest that you take a chill pill and try to find something that you can achieve yourself rather than have the need to live in the reflected glory of the achievements of others (if they ever do achieve!) in this case SUFC.

I learned a long time ago that the world is a much easier and happier place to be if you learn not to worry about things that you can't influence.

I suppose I could have said this three words ( get a life) but I needed to get it off my chest.

Have a good day.

Yes, the promise that they will have a real go at promotion this season. Said by KM & KB many a time!

Agree wholeheartedly with that, but last time I looked we were still in a play off place.

If I saw anyone at BDTBL not giving their best week in and week out with impunity then I may start throwing my toys around too but at the moment I think the management and players are trying hard (maybe too hard!) and you can not ask a lot more from anyone.

Ha ha ha brilliant.

I've seen some patronising posts, but this takes the biscuit. I get pationate about my team, but I need to get a life. Good one. You are a mug pure and simple. Normally I would not bother responding to such a self rightous post such as yours as I don't need to explain myself to you. But i'll make an exception for his her Majesty Maidenhead. From one post you can deem that you have a life advantage over me? Simply pathetic. I am sure that there are plenty enough people to see what a judgemental bag of wind you actually are.

Have a good day too!?

fair enough alco. But the general point is that we got beat by a very poor side!? Sure they've won a game, but they should have been bread and butter for us.

I think you just illustrated my point. Far too passionate to be a well balanced individual.

I see your location is listed as London. Did I meet you on any of the many London Blades away days during my 11 years down there?

If you're so passionate I would be very surprised if I didn't.

My comments btw relate to many on here not just you and also contain absolutely no personal abuse.

Sorry you don't like my style but we're none of us perfect.

This thread seems to be mirroring many of the points made on Foxy's "Embarrassed" thread.

One of the points on there is that the "knockers" (sorry to use the simplistic phrase again MattH :)) seem to be becoming evermore "militant and evangelistic" (SEB) and that the negative view is becoming the accepted norm. MattH rightly points out that most views (racism etc aside) are valid and we all support our club in our own ways - and that the "clappers" shouldn't take the moral high ground.

This thread seems to have reversed the arguement - and here we have the "knockers" (feeling secure in their majority?) branding anyone who doesn't share their point of view as a "mug".

For what it's worth - I'm with Maidenhead. Nowhere on my ticket does it say I'm paying for victories through quality football. I know what Sheff Utd are, and I know what to realistically expect when I walk into Bramall Lane. Losses and poor performances are disappointing and frustrating - but I have no right whatsoever to victories etc - and if I don't like it, then I have the choice to stay away.
