I know this means nothing to us but just looked and Palace haven't yet given holding a squad number .

Love to go back in for him, Bindon would benefit loads from an experienced ball playing centerback like him, plus I think we'd have the best ball playing cb partnership in league and pretty much unpressable.

Not sure of his contract situation, but pretty obvious he does not feature in their plans and subsequently may be prepared to offload on a free if we pay a percentage of his salary.
It is however yet another player that we think may be capable of doing a job because he was previously at BDTBL. The players signed do not have to have previous links to the club, to the manager yes, but the club no.

I’ve rated Holding for us for quite a long time and I think with his experience would bring along any young player who plays alongside him. I don’t think anyone could favour him purely based on last season as we (oddly) hardly saw him.
If we do sign Phillips then even from the bench or even in training I think he could be a huge asset.
With a defence that could be made up of 3 players under 23, potentially all 4 his presence could be hugely important for us.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned, I think this deal is beyond us.

I’d imagine a deal with Palace and Holding might be possible, given his situation at Palace they may be open to a free and getting his wages off the books. He’s still only 29, £45k per week salary but potentially brought lower with a decent signing on fee.

He’s still only only 29, only started 4 matches for us but it became apparent that’s he’s a class above anything else we have, bear in mind he wasn’t even fit in the time he was with us.

For me, we brought a Rolls Royce on board last January, it needed an oil change and its tyres pressure topping up and would run like a dream with a bit of TLC. For some reason we stuck with the 15 year old Vauxhall even though it had broken down regularly in the previous years we had owned it.
 
Obviously we can't afford his wages, but is he actually fit enough? I mean, we don't know why he didn't feature more but he was struggling when he had to play a full game.

Did he? I thought he looked OK and seem to remember him managing deep into games a couple of times.
Obviously difficult to get match fit if you’re not getting matches though.

I have memories of him getting cramp and coming off and putting on an ice pack. It might just be conditioning but missing that much football is going to have an impact.

I would imagine after his fall out with glasner he would have been excluded from most of the first team facilities and not played any games, I highly doubt we'd get him here again but from what limited game time he had with us ,if he gets a proper preseason someone will get a good centre half.

Was it the pinch podcast where they said there’s a tie in with us and his agent? Could be a deal to do.

He will get rid of Shackleton, another one out of his depth at this level.
