Due to get the train up from London around 5-ish and arrive into Birmingham at 6.45pm.

Only issue is I had a dodgy Chinese last night. Was up all night with the sh*ts, battled into work only to feel terrible, decide to go home, then throw up all of last night's dinner just outside the building as I left. Lovely stuff. I'm now sat at home in my pants pondering: do I still make the trip up this evening or do I stay at home? I do feel better, but feel like there's a genuine danger of an accident later (if anyone's seen that video of a West Brom fan, think along those lines).

So fellow Blades, do I stay or do I go?

I agree (apart from the 'happily take 0-0 now'). Our loss to Bristol City - while Norwich and Leeds were winning - will prove a critical blow for our auto chances. Too late in the season to make up those lost 3 points. We've got no wiggle room now, and if we lose tonight and Norwich win as expected, we're really up against it - it's another repeat of the Bristol weekend scenario. Plus, we will lose at least another of our last five games.

Sorry if you 'wouldn't want me in the trenches', just being realistic. Even if we win tonight, it's still going to be unbelievably tight.

Although just a point extra, in retrospect a 2-2 draw against Bristol would’ve meant a hell of a lot, giving us the luxury of being able to draw a game & still be above them on goal difference.

A draw tonight and we’re still in the hunt. A loss followed by a Leeds win on Saturday (even if we win on Saturday) and the fat lady is clearing her throat.

Leeds v Wednesday is now massive for us, it doesn’t have to be a Leeds loss, just damage inflicted on them in some way. Plus we need Villa not to be assured of a play off spot when they play Leeds, 2nd to last game.

As you say, it’s tight and there’s little margin for error. Bet365 have us as favourites to finish 2nd.

It won't matter where Villa are when they play Leeds, if they're assured of a play-off spot they'll still want to keep the momentum going and the players will be playing for their shirt still. There will also be less pressure on them which may help.

Correct and any team left in the top 6 will want to aim for 3rd or 4th which would give home advantage in the play offs

I imagine any team in the top six will also want to avoid 6th, so as to avoid either us or Leeds...

I'm a lot more nervous for this than lrestoP for some reason, might be because it's back in our hands.

Que sera sera (and no that's not a Wembley reference).

Fingers crossed for the performance we know we can deliver, but if it turns out not to be our night it's nowhere near over yet. Brum are a decent side and it won't be easy, but I'm always optimistic with this side.

Nothing has changed,if we we win all our remaining six games we will be promoted automatically,we are still in the box seat.

Yup, a loss tonight is not the end of the world but a loss on Satdi combined with a Weeds win would be

We have probably only got one last slip up in us if we are going up as auto.

It's getting very near to squeaky bum time.

I'd settle for a 1-0 victory now, boy am I going to look stupid if we win by 2 clear goals or more.

Us northerners would never consider wimping out :)

We’re very consistent with a great fighting character, so it’s unlikely that we’ll lose.
However this will be tough, think it will be a 1-1 draw.
Also when we’ve been a position where a win puts us top or puts us in the top 2, we’ve generally failed.

A draw would be fine tonight but I think we will win. Regardless I think we will be back in 2nd after the weekend.

It is natural for us fans to be nervous about the result, but I am pretty sure the players will be fairly relaxed & confident every time they go on the pitch. After all it is what they train for every day, & a big night match under floodlights is the perfect place to show how good they are.

I can’t help but wonder what the lads have been told if we’re drawing after say 75 minutes. Are they being told a draw is fine or to go for it.

CW is hardly famed for settling for a point. Also, all a point does is mean we can afford to draw next time Leeds lose.

I know we should set up to win, but if it’s 0-0 late on, I do wonder whether they’ll stick or twist.

That's the problem with the positions turning around, when Leeds win it puts us 2 points behind so we can only overtake them with a win, psychologically it's difficult for us, and not knowing whether to stick or twist could be our downfall.

Wilder and the teams attitude should just be 6 wins on the bounce, very difficult to achieve but that should be the aim. We've seen enough last minute disasters to last a lifetime, so everyone should just be thinking six wins on the bounce and we can't be caught, the team should be primed to making it happen themselves and not get into any "what if" scenarios

Well after last night's victory for Leeds this has become a huge game. But Birmingham will likely beat us 3-0 and we pretty much should pack in for this season now as Leeds clearly have it wrapped up. So football God's you needn't throw us any bum deals because it's inevitable failure either way....

But anyway...

Any team news? :)

Is JOC fit to return?

Madine a likely option tonight...

JOC apart, start unchanged?

Joking apart from my initial introduction, this is a very difficult game. A place we don't have much success, and a manager who may have the Midas touch over Wilder...

That said, it's been a while since they have 2 in a row at home, and we ain't top 3 through luck. On very little basis, I expect Birmingham to be quite physical, while relying on the likes of Adams to do the damage. Stick to our usual game, but at 110% this evening and let's see what happens. 1-1 head, 2-1 Blades victory heart...

Safe journey all

UTB
We should have won against Bristol city then it wouldn't have mattered so much

True, but after tonight we play before Leeds for the next 4. We have an opportunity to put the pressure on them every game now.

Go out and win tonight - then win on Saturday. Let them go into the SWFC game 4 points behind and deal with the pressure.

Then do the same against Forest, and make them react again. Then Hull. Then Ipswich.

Come on. Make your mind up.
Shit it get off the pot :D

Che is a main danger tonight , he's a different player this season , matured a lot and is a very good striker , he will move on this summer probably to a premiership team , I think we get 15% if he does move , he will score tonight !!!
