Been critical of Billy at times recently but that performance tonight was unreal. Best I’ve seen him play in years. He’s a legend.
Why was he short changed? Wilder brought in players as Billy can’t play every game, the other players short changed usConsistently very good at this level. Irrespective of age.
With one obvious exception, who is better at this level ?
Will play for at least 2-3 years more and still be scoring goals for fun somewhere.
Hugely underrated baller. Chronically shortchanged by Wilder for inferior players brought in at cost to do a job he is simply much better at.
I’m sure he will have enjoyed it last neet quite a bit more than some others.

I think he’s getting fitter strangely, never stopped for a second. I’d say his best game of the season.

Should he have had more pitch time under Wilder ?Why was he short changed? Wilder brought in players as Billy can’t play every game, the other players short changed us
I think there was a comment from Wilder and also Hecky that all players need managing with Sat-Tues-Sat.Should he have had more pitch time under Wilder ?
What evidence do you have that proves he can’t play in every game ?
Emphatic “yes he bloody well should” IMHO.

Everyone picks up injuries. If that’s the only “evidence”, it’s not much to go on.I think there was a comment from Wilder and also Hecky that all players need managing with Sat-Tues-Sat.
Billy picked up injuries last season and this and missed games - so I guess that’s your evidence
Not sure I said I had evidence beyond the sensible that he can’t play every minute of every game. Not sure it’s just a Billy thing to be honest. Just sensible management from any managerEveryone picks up injuries. If that’s the only “evidence”, it’s not much to go on.
Of course players need managing. 90 minutes for 46 games almost impossible.
But look back over the 2 seasons in the PL and justify to me the amount of time Bill spent getting splinters in his arris ?

Sol BambaWho's the big fella after knill
They do but CW did more than that, felt like he'd permanently benched him.I think there was a comment from Wilder and also Hecky that all players need managing with Sat-Tues-Sat.

Wonder what caused him to turn his head back just after he hugged Knill (14 secs)? Looked concerned about what had happened behind him
I see, thanksHe got told he was in the studio in 5 minutes. Not long for him to have a shower and get ready![]()
Yes can’t disagree with that. Also scored 2 vital goals recently. Against Udders and was it Wigan when we won 2-1 away. Gave us 6 points. Our lead over Watford now 13 points! Heard Carl Asarbs call him “the goat” on SUTV the other day. Never heard him called that before! Great name though!Digging up an old thread, but to me it’s never been more relevant.
At a time when our first choice strikers have been injured, or underperforming, Billy Sharp has stepped up to the plate and led the line like only he can.
Despite the understandable loss of pace, his experience at this level allows PH an agreeable option. Billy can do it alone, or supporting a strike partner like Ndiaye or Jebbinson.
We are indeed very fortunate to have him as an asset to cover the fact that McBurnie is now back, and Jebbinson if fulfilling his potential at last.
Never write him off, because you just know that he will pop up a score a crucial goal just when we need it. I cannot imagine life at the Jane without him.
Billy Sharp. A great example of humanity and a Lane Legend.
He has to start all 3 of the remaining games - and the whole team just try to create a goal for him for the full 90 minutes each time.
