amazing how people still think forwards need goals, i'd be perfectly happy if he doesn't score all season if his contributions allow us to get promoted
Im really not convinced he's any quicker. Remember when Ched dropped to league one, he looked like he was much faster. I suspect its just the slouches in this league making him appear faster. As for goals, I would not panic yet. He's playing well and as an experienced striker, I'm sure he's confident the goals will come in time.
Agana's scoring record was pretty good for the blades - less than a 1 in 3 goals per game ratio - not badTotally agree. As long as our combined play leads to the ball rolling between those sticks, there shouldn't be such emphasis about who gets the final touch. It's a team effort, and the only stat worth considering is whether we score more goals than the opposition. If we do, it doesn't matter who gets them.
Billy Sharp should be under no pressure at all to get off the mark. If he's in a situation where he could shoot from a tight angle or pass to a teammate in a better position, he should be under no pressure to shoot to "open his account".
Goals per season is an overrated stat. You need to look at assists and overall contribution. Remember Tony Agana? Remembered fondly as a great forward. He didn't score many but set up countless goals. I'd be quite happy seeing Sharp running through defences then laying the ball back for someone else to have a pop.
Anybody is too much for Blackpool
Agree, he's looked fantastic in the games I've seen. It's a long season and Sammon looking a real handful I'm sure that between them they will score if we carry on creating chances.I disagree with you, I don't think Billy Sharp needs to do anything more than he is doing at the minute and the goals will naturally arrive.
Billy ain't a young lad any more, with his experience will be an understanding that the most important thing is to perform well as an individual and as a team and to take three points from games. He has put in a shift in every game he has played so far and has been right in the thick of it all. He doesn't need to panic because past experience will tell him to just carry on doing what he is doing and the opening will come.
I don't think he has any issues with his confidence either.
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
