Big Scary Leeds

Normally a player comes into a team like this with a free pass, but Farke has taken the decision so late, having lost the advantage, that it now places Darlow under just as much pressure as Meslier was under.

He can't afford to make any mistakes
Not like Lu’on are going to bombard the keeper…

Surely the Luton equivalent of S2 4SU have realised that Meslier flaps like a big girly girl doing ballet whilst trying to catch a butterfly and will have alerted the powers that be?

We'll see. But they have picked up significantly in recent weeks and are making a scrap of it. Normally getting a few shots on target too.

The flip side to the argument is that perhaps Leeds and Burnley's players are better conditioned and fitter than ours.

Over the the last two seasons all of a sudden we have a squad of players who can't seem to manage to make it past 70 minutes. I don't think it's because the game has changed and we're up against faster and quicker players, as the faster and quicker players often play the whole 90 against us.

Something is not right at Shirecliffe and hasn't been for a while, hence all the long term injuries we've suffered, though they coincidentally started drying up after Hecky left, which he has a historical MO for. Perhaps Hecky may indeed have been the route cause as Preston currently have 9 players out injured.

At the start of July, when pre-season began, we could barely scrape together a starting 11. Most of our signings came in later and missed a lot of the pre-season training where conditioning is done. Add in the fact that we had a wafer thin squad up to the end of January and certain players had to play far more minutes than we'd want. Then you can see now why some are only doing 70.

But I do think there's also a general trend in football that now 5 subs are allowed, certain players are told to run themselves into the ground and then brought off early for fresh legs, who then also run themselves daft

Have to say though, if they do bottle it again, I can't see them not winning the play offs. Sunderland have lost form and the others are miles away

Boro might be the form team going into the play offs.

Someone better tell ‘em that, they’ll be delighted. Similar sentiments haven’t mattered when fans thought they were clear for promotion after beating us. Or when the international break came at a good time for an easy game at home against Swansea. But you never know!

It is a bold move on one hand but on the other it is really a bit of a weak move too.

He’s bought into some of the fan ire and buckled. Meslier wasn’t at fault for the winner. That was poor defending to allow him the space to shoot and it was an excellent finish. But he’s carried the cab for it.

Darlow hasn’t played a first team game since 2023 for them. Luton are rough and tumble and on decent form.

It feels like in the home straight, Farke has blinked first.

Nope….however he got to the decision it was the right one for Leeds. He should have made it weeks ago. Shame.

The ref might be a sheffielder but not necessarily a Blade!

It’s like sacking a manager. Getting rid of one is easy but only makes sense if the new guy is better.

He’ll be under huge pressure from the start.

Hope he chucks a few in his own net. Then what? 🤣

One things for sure, if Leeds win some on here will say he’s a pig fan, if Luton win, everyone in Leeds will say he’s a Blade.

Probably supports Liverpool 😕

If leeds win at 1230 tomorrow the doom mongers will be out in force before we kick off.
