Big Scary Leeds

Yet because he's made so many errors every little thing will add up now. Harsh and ups the pressure on him even more.

Love it.
Yes, blaming him entirely for the last ditch equaliser is pretty unfair, but from our point of view undermining the confidence of their first choice keeper is a definite plus.

I thought that was a really powerful finish. Not sure there's many keepers would have stopped that

He lashes it in didn’t he? Yes it went marginally under him but it was hit very hard and basic physics says it will take time for him to get down. If the ball is travelling to quickly then that’s how it goes.

Not bothered about Leeds falling apart again. We are now in the enviable position (they’ve been in all season due to our 2pt deduction) in that WE ARE IN CONTROL OF OUR DESTINY, read that again, we are in control of our destiny.

Let’s hope we don’t have a wobble.

The current bookies odds are...

Champions:
Leeds 10/11
Sheff Utd 7/4
Burnley 9/2

Finish Top 2:
Leeds 1/5
Sheff Utd 4/11
Burnley 1/1

Promoted:
Leeds 1/14
Sheff Utd 2/9
Burnley 1/2

We need to build on that performance against Coventry and make sure it wasn't another one off like Bristol, Oxford and Boro. We need to go up in good form with momentum as it will give the players some belief.

The first time we went up under Wilder we'd had three seasons of feeling invincible where we feared no one and approached every game with a "we will win this" mentality. Momentum and confidence set us off to a great start in the Premier League and we built on that achieving a finish beyond our wildest dreams.

Scrappy wins don't generate belief, good performances do.

I’m not sure I agree totally. I think that winning while not playing great actually can also generate belief as long as it doesn’t create the mentality that that is all they have to do. Now if you’re talking about belief in the fans you’re definitely spot on. 😬

Agree with both of the latter points. At the moment it’s about points.

But that would be made far easier if we could produce the level of performance we had on Friday, in te remaining fixtures.

Absolutely - play like we did Friday and there is a high probability the points will come.

If I'm doing the maths right, that gives the following percentage chances of promotion:

Leeds 93%
United 82%
Burnley 66%

And top 2

Leeds 84%
United 73%
Burnley 50%

Rationally, those odds make Little sense given the current table and current form, so I assume they're due to.loads of bets on Leeds

The "protection" bet for Utd fans here is to double your money betting on Burnley to finish top 2. Lose that bet and we are promoted - and there is still a chance that you win and we go up with Burnley...

Give me some other protection bet options please.

Spoiler alert -we will definitely have a wobble at some point.

Our worse 7 game sequence this season was mid Dec to mid Jan when we won 4 drew 1 and lost 2, to get 13 points.

That would take us to 96 if repeated . Both Leeds and Burnley would have to take 15 points to beat that, which seems unlikely...
We also had that run Sept to Oct
13/9 A Hull W2-0
21/9 H Derby W1-0
28/9 A Portsmouth D0-0
2/10 H Swansea W1-0
5/10 H Luton W2-0
18/10 A Leeds L0-2
23/10 A Middlesbrough L0-1

Bet they both do get 15 pts out of 21 pts.

....and that was when our injury list was at it's greatest.

Ideally we want to be 4 points clear of Burnley and Leeds when we kick off against Burnley.

The ultimate would them both to flap and Cardiff game be promotion game.

I think finding rocking horse shit is more likely than that though 🤣

I think its W3, D1, L3...

Takes us to 93 if repeated.

Our worst 6 game stretch is also gathering 10 points - on 7 (overlapping in places) occasions:

twice in this run (after games 11 and 12)
1743424540769.webp

and 5 times in this run, after games 25, 26, 27, 28, 29

1743424582051.webp

I suspect if we replicated that over the next 6 then our fate would not be in our hands going into the final day

FWIW this is our best 7 game run W6, D1 - repeat that and we are definitely up.:

And our best sequence of wins is 4 in a row (twice) - we are currently on 2...
