Perhaps other just don't want the abuse for helping fellow Blades out.

With a Group of potential influence like this, the members will get critisism as some won't like the fact they having been asked, that their opinion is not seen as important, off another forum and so on.If you are unable to deal with the 'spotlight' that being part of BIFF and these meetings will bring, you shouldn't be part of the process/meetings as you won't be giving feedback to the supporters you are supposed to be representing.

I'll get back to my Pimms

Not gone down too well on BM

Were there any people from BIFF at the meeting that were also active on BM linz?

I'd respond directly on BM, but it seems the precious little souls got a bit offended yesterday, and my right to reply to posts has been removed.

Not Bothered? Check. :D

Turns out that it's a glitch in their site software, that once a thread gets beyond 50 replies then you sometimes can't respond directly to a post.

Would love to have a look at that site's codebase. WTF's a plenty i expect! :)

Hand dryers in toilets

Terrible idea in a packed toilet. To properly dry your hands using a hand dryer takes a good minute or so Vs 2 or 3 seconds with a paper towel. Germs and bacteria breed quickly in damp hot conditions meaning sticking your wet hands briefly under a heated blow dryer will do nothing except increase the germs. You'd be better off not washing your hands at all! Those germs are then going to end up all over everything you touch.

It's also a terrible idea to have them in packed areas because they turn all that wet germinated gunge into an aerosol, which, unless you vent it, will circulate around the room (in nice warm damp air due to the room being packed full of people and several dryers kicking out warm air constantly). It's a fine way to infect a couple of hundred people with Norovirus or Influenza.

Dyson Hand Blades! Grecian2000 had them installed in the bathrooms in his Bollinger bar on the Kop

Ah yes 2 things i have not missed since not going to the games. The incredibly loud tannoy in the South stand and Tom Hark goal celebration music.

The simple lesson seems to be this - ask and you might get, you might not too, but you never know. But don't ask and you can guarantee you won't get anything. So why the fuss about this? It may just give the club a few good ideas they'd not previously thought about, and that can only be a good thing. I bet there will be some ideas that people might think are crazy that turn out to be gems.

So if United are really serious about listening to the fans, and current indicators seem to be that they are very serious about liostening then why do some people have any kind of a problem? Make your points here and they'll get put forward. But if you don't then don't moan that the club never listens.

And don't question Linz or Foxy's integrity or willingness to put themselves out for others. I know them personally and I'll guarantee you that they have the best interests of this forum, all Blades fans and Sheffield United in mind. They don't do this for the fame or the fortune, because from what I've seen they get plenty of grief and no money - in fact they pay for this forum from their own money.

So cheers for this thread and others like it. And thanks for putting the points to United on behalf of us.

No worries. I'll answer any questions I can because I think it's important that everyone understands what BIFF is there to do.

Next home game will you make Bovril for the rest of us and bring me a spare blanket I was bloody freezing against Donny.

To echo SV's comments while discussing the BM stuff I would like to add that I think the current members of BIFF on BM have to keep putting their points of view across because BIFF shouldn't be leaning too far towards any particular fan base. That said from a few discussions on BM with the ones involved in BIFF they seem decent guys too and it should be said that all members of BIFF should be representing as much of the fan base as possible. Even the ignorant one who result to calling people cunts, if they manage to raise a valid point. Personally I don't think any particular group or forum having too much influence in BIFF is a good thing. It's up to them to ensure this doesn't happen, even if they have to actively encourage the alternative viewpoints. Of course these viewpoints have to be articulated appropriately and I hope they find someone to do so.

I'd also add my thanks to Foxy and Linz for ensuring these minutes get out to the fan base one way or another.

I agree with Worksop Blade re: comments about Tom Hark and 9 year old. The music ruins my celebration of a goal. Seems a small step before we have words on the screen telling us to "stand and cheer wildly whilst waving hands in air". Contrived and not neccessary.

The meeting lasted three hours as it was. As stated, full copies of the threads with everyone's suggestions verbatim (including comments about Amsterdam booths... Swiss) were sent following the meeting.

Surely that was my suggestion? I want credit for that, and the advice re tissues.

Yeah but your idea was raw, I found the fusion of two excellent ideas and made Linz think that it was her idea, thus empowering her. You're welcome pal!

mmmmm......... BIFF ..... looks like a lot have jumped ship already due to frustration and lack of action!
When Blades are asked for idea's and see none taken onboard ............... interest soon vanishes !

Tom Hark easy ............sort it !

As ever, I don't know how to take your posts. But I think it illustrates the difficulty with these things. It's like suggestion schemes at work. I once implemented one and quickly realised what a mistake it was. It gives every brain dead the chance to raise daft idea, and think the fact that they raised it is enough to stick it as priority number 1, or at least a good idea.

Tom Hark might be naff, but when we score it looks to me like more than half the crowd is celebrating to it. What does the club make of that? They have to gauge the actual responses to the ramblings of a few illiterate contributors to message boards.

It's a difficult one.

The Tom Hark is an easy one we could trial not playing when we score for the next few matches (or however many it takes us to score !)

Are "more than half" celebrating because we're playing Tom Hark or because we've scored?

Simple test.

Play Tom Hark at some random point in the game and see how many people get up and fanny dance around.
Don't play it after a goal and see how many people celebrate anyway.

Doesn't matter to me either way. If we score, and it's meaningful, I'm too busy celebrating to notice the music and fanny dancing anyway. It does look rather sad when we play it after a meaningless/consolation sort of goal though!

Linz, before I email RB and ask him where we are with all the ideas minuted/reasons why some of the suggestions were rejected (particularly with ST's), has there been another meeting since this reporting on any progress?

Yes... there was another meeting but the basic response was "on-going" for a lot of the comments. Both Foxy and I are to blame for the minutes not being published yet as we've had a shockingly busy couple of weeks so apologies for that.

The club has taken on board what was said about the ticket office and online ticket sales to some degree however we were disappointed to see that on Friday night, the ability to renew season tickets magically disappeared from the website.... only to reappear when Foxy asked why it wasn't working. We were also told the 0871 number would be shifting... but that appears not to have happened yet.

With regards to catering, Compass have said they are open to ideas with regards to franchises and to get in touch.

Dave McCarthy was the man responsible for implementing much of the suggested stuff but I'm sure Richard would pass a message on... [email protected] (I might put it in my sig rather than my email address!)

I don't think anyone can have a pop at you two for not doing the minutes, but basically if everything is "on-going" doesn't seem much point in emailing him. I would have liked to know why none of the ideas around the marketting of ST's were adopted though.......

I have to say if they are all still "on-going" by the time of the next meeting - no point jamming up the system with any fresh ideas - then the sceptics will have won out again. The stopping of which was one of the reasons the role was created I imagine.
