You may find this an interesting read

Much as I hate Bruce and Villa I think that a win for them would be best for us as I can see the Fulham team breaking up if they don't win and their manager leaving. Whereas Villa are just going to get stronger and could therefore take one of the automatic places next season

If Fulham were to lose and get pillaged in the summer, they’ll make an absolute bomb off it (seriously, think how much some Prem club would pay for Sessegnon) so they’ll just tool up and be at least as strong next year.

You could argue similar with Villa but Fulham have been building for years and are streets ahead of Villa (and us) right now - would much rather we didn’t have to play them next season.

I'd be very happy to see Fulham go up because:

a) they deserve it over the season
b) they were the best team we faced home and away
c) Ryan Sessegnon deserves to be playing in the Premier League and I always prefer it when youth players stay with their boyhood club.
d) John Terry

Villa have spent a fortune to get back up. That’s enough reason to hope they fail.

Villa will be in a mess if they lose. Parachute payments cease, player sales and discontent.

Fulham win in our best interests.

I’ve got mixed feelings. I know Fulham fans and I’d be happy for them if they went up but Blades at Craven Cottage is like a home game for me. It was great to have it back on the fixture list and I want to go again next season (hopefully we’ll give them a footballing lesson as well as a lesson in how to support your team next time).
That said, I’d love to see Villa fail. My gut feeling is that Fulham will bottle it and Villa will nick a scrappy game.

Watching Villa come out at Wembley I'll feel like playing Yvonne Fair's 1976 'It should have been me'.

The thought of weapons grade rimmers Grealish and Snodgrass being rewarded for a season of gravity obeying should turn every right thinking persons stomachs.
This. All footballing reasons aside, I really want to see Grealish in particular sobbing on the Wembley turf this afternoon. His pathetic attempts to get Bash sent off at Villa Park cemented his place in my personal pantheon of most hated people in football. Odious little wanker. I'd bet any money he has repeatedly used the phrase "don't you know who I am" when trying to get free drinks in Birmingham nightclubs. Everything wrong about young modern footballers in one greasy package.

Well said that man, particularly point d).
Fulham for me :)

No fan of Villa but nothing in particular against them either. Fulham on the other hand have Sky and the BBC creaming themselves every fucking time they are mentioned. Why I don't know. Fulham ffs.

On balance, couldn't give a shit, we shouldn't be afraid of the prospect of playing either of them. Whichever one stays in the Championship will be there for the same reason as the other 23 teams.

Grealish....just Grealish.

I want to see that twats face on tele now.

But as for the question, Villa will be in a mess. A very expensive squad, with not as much value in it as some may think. Lots of players getting on and value dropping, lots of expensive average players and only one or two worth a few quid.
Bruce will likely look to move on, and will have his eye on whichever premier league side sacks their manager.

Best result for United was Fulham win.

Yet another little London club with shed loads of money in the Premier League. Whatever happened to football being the northern working man's game
