Best Overseas Player To Have Been A Blade?

Vas Borbokis was great but if I had to pick a best of the rest it would be Sabella IMO he was the best Argentinian that crossed over to England, his only difference he didn't go to Tottingham.

Been mentioned a few times, I'll join the queue in applauding Sabella (as has been said, AS needed better players around him but there were many moments when it was a pleasure to watch him wear a Blade's shirt), Vas (how good would he be playing for Wilder?) and Dellas.

Sabella was the best overseas player that I have seen wear the red and white stripes.

Sabella‘s strength was that he had the skills of Maradona (his knickname in Argentina was The Magician) but he never made it to the very top internationally because he was very slow (his other knickname in Argentina was The Sloth) and he lacked physicality (small with a slight build).

2 really strong memories that I remember going to the Lane in the late 70’s/ early 80’s was
Keith Edwards was the most caught offside Blades player I’ve ever seen and
Alex Sabella was the most fouled Blades player I’ve ever seen. He dwelled on the ball but had amazingly quick feet, close control and balance.

I always thought the story was, when Verón was growing up and his uncle Pedro Verde joined United alongside Sabella, he only only wanted to play for United, just like his uncle.

Obviously he ended up in Manchester with the wrong United... but definitely a Blade!

Dellas for me.
I think we played him in Midfield, giant of a man who was very comfortable on the ball.
I still can picture the screamer he scored in the top corner at the kop end against Portsmouth i think, I was right behind the goal knew it was in as soon as it left his foot.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned Jan Aage Fjortoft.

I still rate him as one of the best finishers I have ever seen. There wasn't much work rate with him, and his all round game wasn't the best, but you always knew that when he got the ball in the box, he would be able to expertly finish it.
