Sure some clever arse will say how'd you know it was a good match if you weren't there.. you know what I mean !!
Just a few recent ones that spring to mind straight away for me are these although I'm sure I'll be reminded of a few more maybe
Villa away in the FA cup the other year
Peterborough and Bradford away this season
Port vale at home this season although I was at my mates wedding at st Mary's church and I kept popping out for a fag to listen to the crowd ! (sure he'll be lurking on this thread somewhere....)

The 6-0 win at home vs. West Brom. It's taken me until this season to finally see a 6-0 win.

Play off semi second leg v Forest in 2003.

I was in a pub in Cologne, Germany as I'd just started a new job

Didn't go to Leicester 89.
I did the old insurance policy thing.
Thought if I'm there and we fail then I'll be guttered
And if I'm not there and we win then the joy of promotion will overcome my feelings of missing out.

More recently I was abroad in Lanzerote when we played Charlton in the FA cup quarter final.
Found a bar to watch the match live in tv.
Not many in the bar but came across a Chalrton fan, who was negative about their chances pre, during and post match.

Blades 3 Pigs 1 with the Michael Brown screamer.

Was at a family do (Mrs Ken's side) but watched it on Sky. Me and Ken Jnr went wild when Brownie scored and woke the baby - probably the reason we were there. Scalded by Mrs Ken for the noise but Mrs Ken brother said he wasn't surprised when he saw the replay.

The one I particularly remember being fed up about missing was 6-0 v West Brom, though I've missed loads if I think about it. In considering the missing of Cardiff away (Webber) in promotion season, its made me realise that in my son's lifetime (he's 19) we've only been promoted once.

Shocking, really. When you consider we've only had 2 or 3 fighting relegation seasons in that time, and at least 13-14 going for promotion seasons it makes you realise how often we've come up just short. Bloody hell United.

Leicester away....no date needed, you all know the one.

Me too.
Quite simply I had a young family and a below average wage. I did attend most home games that season but bills had mounted and I had to prioritise.
Layed on the lawn in the blazing sun supping my dads home brew. Caught 4" of the goals between trips to the loo.

West Ham away in the league cup. Loved Doyle's celebration as he slotted in the winning pen! Would have loved to been at that one.

For me, most of them.

But have caught some of the more significant wins - Arsenal 5-0, Pompey 1-2, Southampton 2-4, QPR 0-3 (Santos!) which have been few and far between.

Wish I'd been at Leicester (was duty), Pig double bacon McSwiss (was at sea for both matches) and missed out on the Hull Semi because my mate came down to Pompey towatch it with me (I did suggest we buy tix and go, but he wouldn't have it)

I was born less than a month after Leicester in 1990, so I have the misfortune to have only seen 1 promotion at 26 years old, though I've only been going home and away for 21.

I was at Cardiff though, hoping for a similar Good Friday at Port Vale this season ;)

1971 SUFC 5 Cardiff City 1. Was in hospital trying to listen on hospital radio which was terrible.
Leicester away.
Spurs semi final League Cup second leg at Bramall Lane. Was on the way to South Africa.

Games I wish I had missed - all the play off finals but particularly the Huddersfield defeat. Absolute torture.

Since 89/90 I've been privileged to see all the big home victories - league/cup/POs, and all victories at the sty, plus that Leicester match.

However I did miss the 2-0 home win v Sunderland on the opening day of the season in 97/98 and that always grates on me. I remember where I was though - Seahouses, pestering my dad every two minutes to check the radio for the score.

Too many to count, one that sticks in my mind is the game against Forest in the '14 cup run. I was able to watch the first half and had to leave just after we got the equaliser for a shift at work I couldn't get out of. I jumped in a taxi, and by the time I got to work we were 2-1 up. My dad called me a few moments later, and I heard the roar as the 3rd goal went in. Sat in with my service users as an adult social care worker, knowing we'd made it to a quarter final with no one to talk to about it was an odd feeling to say the least.

FA cup semi final v Hull. Believe it or not my daughters birthday fell on that weekend and we'd pre-booked a weekend in london(of all places) to celebrate. Hotel, River cruise, London Dungeon, Natural history museum, Charlie and Chocolate factory at theatre and a Slap up meal etc.
All done with a grimace on my face to the amusement of my daughter and her best friend.(Not into footy)
They got the picture on the train back with a carriage full of grimacing faces.

6-0 v Spurs.
Working late at Tesco's in Selby when I lived near Scunny.
Left for home in the car and had no idea of the score when I turned the radio on just as radio 5 (I think) were finishing their programme.
"So, thanks for listening, we'll leave you with the goals from Bramall Lane"
First one went in and it was almost like being there. Cheering, fist pumping, the lot.
Next went in and I thought, "Hey, we might have won this"
When the third went in, it confirmed my thoughts.
After the fourth, I started to doubt my sanity. "We were playing in form Tottenham weren't we?"
After the 5th and then the 6th, I started thinking, "Kinell, when's this going to stop" with a huge grin on my face.
Then the annoyance that I hadn't been there kicked in!!

QPR away when Booker scored to keep us up. April 1991.

I had no-one to go with so had to miss it.

Often reminded of it by a 'friend' who will doubtless copy and paste this post and email it to me...
