And he hasn’t been since the turn of the year, he’s been pretty average at best and shocking at worst, but his goal against Bournemouth seems to have wiped those displays from memory.

He was abysmal against Arsenal and lost his place to Besic. Somehow though, Berge has pushed Besic down further than Lundstram, think Mo must have scraped Wilder's Merc in the Shirecliffe car park.

Lundstram was excellent coming on against Palace, but apart from the goal was sloppy against Bournemouth and, fair do's didn't get long yesterday but didn't make much impact.

I'd play Berge in the cup, as many games as possible because he needs to develop understanding and the players need to get used to him, he takes up good positions but doesn't receive the passes.

Being on the Hookers sponsored Kop,i missed the Maupay goal and how he scored it,( you know up and down more times than a hookers pants)

Watching the highlights it seems that Berge was marking Maupay in the six yard area and let him nip in front of him,so is that two goals Berge has cost us now.

I think it was McBurnie marking him but either way, the question is why we would let either of them mark their nippy, diminutive and most dangerous player? They’d got enough giants up for Berge and McBurnie to mark, It should have been a defender on Maupay, possibly Baldock IMO.

Actually I’ve just seen their goal on the box and I was totally wrong, McBurnie and Bash lost the first header. Berge was in the mix for the goal but as defenders O’Connell and Egan are the main culprits, O’Connell was slow to react after the knock on and Egan just stood and marked fresh air, poor defending from all 3 centre backs, very harsh to lay the blame on Berges’s door for that goal.

It was definetley berge although there were several others ball watching too
Not sure what the fuck Henderson was doing either
Just a series of Calamity's

Berge for me, you can just see he his class. Rarely gives ball away. Holds the ball in a languid style that is effortless. Weight of pass is perfect. Second half was getting better and better.

Other things to note.

Enda - what a rocket, scored some good team goals this jaunt but that was great to see a thunderbolt for once.

Osborn - must have been bricking himself to come on for Enda - did really well and took it to them, great stuff.

Goldy - we've missed him, great cameo, oozes quality, good to see him back.

McBurnie- huffed and puffed but 20 million -really? Was knackered on 60 would have liked to see Moose for him.

Mcburnie what you on about load of tosh

I think we are missing Lunny - especially his running into the box. Yeah, he looked tired but has got some rest now. Berge to me, seems more in the mold of Norwood (pings the ball about, sits a bit deeper). Berge needs time to settle and get up to speed. I'd bring Lunny back for the next league game.

That goal seems to have wiped his display in that very game from memory! He was really poor against Bournemouth but his goal was absolute class.

I think Lunny starts at Reading and it's up to him to put in a performance to keep he shirt.

The rumour doing the rounds yesterday was that Lunny wants £60k a week, the club have said no & there’s now a stand off.

No idea if there’s any truth at all in it, didn’t hear it from anybody close to the club, probably complete BS.

CW&AK "Right Lunny, let's get this sorted. How much do you want a week?
JL - "I think I'm worth £60k per week
CW&AK two grown men rolling around on the floor in hysterics

I can't imagine for one second that he'd ask for that. IIRC, he is probably on a lot less than other first team members at the moment given his performances last season. He might want parity with the top earners, which I don't think he's earned.

when subbed, Berge had run the most on the pitch bar Maupay,

I don't think he's running into the right places though. That seems to be the problem. Baldock/Bash expect him to be somewhere else and it's the way we play so he's not getting the ball passed to him.
