Berge Vs Lunny

Berge for me, you can just see he his class. Rarely gives ball away. Holds the ball in a languid style that is effortless. Weight of pass is perfect. Second half was getting better and better.

Other things to note.

Enda - what a rocket, scored some good team goals this jaunt but that was great to see a thunderbolt for once.

Osborn - must have been bricking himself to come on for Enda - did really well and took it to them, great stuff.

Goldy - we've missed him, great cameo, oozes quality, good to see him back.

McBurnie- huffed and puffed but 20 million -really? Was knackered on 60 would have liked to see Moose for him.

Great post until you got to the Mcburnie bit, the lad just gets better & better.

Lundstram apart from the goal last game hasn't been that great. He was good at Palace but was poor against Bournemouth, and I don't think he was better than Berge today.

Besic was having a good run maybe he should be involved.

Unless he is injured, the Besic situation is a mystery, seems the performance against Millwall apart from his goal has cost him big time.

I've been very critical of lunny in the past but he definitely deserves the start over berg, crying out for him a lot earlier in the game today ... that said can't CW just make up with Duffy and get him back from Holland???

I disagree with Sander being poor. It's hard to argue against your general point though. I think Sander will be a very fine player for us but he is being played out of his natural central position. I can't help feeling he has been shoe horned into that right midfield role based on his price tag.

Before we signed Berge,Mo had the shirt and was doing fine because Lundstram had faded from early season promise.

Berge is here now and gets the shirt based on him costing 22m quid even tho he has been poor in the role he is playing,Lundstram is bench warming and when he does come on looks much better than Berge..............poor owd Mo can't get a lookin now he must be fookin scratchin his head as why he has been bombed out.

Berge for me, his teammates arent helping . He took up some great postions around the box but they didnt pass to him. Think they like Lunny more to be honest. Hopefully, they will get used to him.
What about that ball the Billy rolled over right to him in the box? Easy shot on a plate, but he wanted too many touches.
I think his brain needs to speed up a bit

A gay man. I don't think it works any other way when talking about man on man action!
Yes, but you're not, are you? If you were, you wouldn't be so disrespectful. Neither am I, so we're not in a position to judge anything about "man on man action", are we? I'm very un"woke", and getting on a bit, but shall we leave references to sexuality out of this (and any other) thread? I liked the 70's, but many things about it are best left there!🙂

Don't blame me for you being mental!

Berge played well 2nd half. Poor first half but he's played 225 minutes of football. Wilder will stick with him because that's the kind of manager he is, and in the long run it will benefit Berge and the team.

Watching Berge skip past players on the right wing in the opening minutes got me thinking. He clearly has good close control and a good short passing game.
If you lot don’t like him replacing Lenny, how about playing him in the hole, where he can take advantage of his height, strength and technical skills? He’s only 21, so DCM might be just one good fit for him.
Maybe management could look at the type of player he works best with? Moose, McBurnie, Sharp, McGoldrick?

How does Berge "hardly ever give the ball away"!?
He regularly gives it away, he doesn't chase it up with any guile like any of the others, he looks lost alot, like one of the kids playing satdy morning, he runs along with the man with the ball but doesn't go in for any tackles. Now I understand he needs time and he might be our best player, but currently, with Mcburnie for me, doesn't look any better than what we had, and I'm hoping part of it is he's playing in a new position.
Look at how Robinson is flying with West Brom, playing out wide, his position, we didn't play him wide and it didn't suit him.

Lunny is far more effective for the team then Berge, so should start, bring Berge on for the final 15 to see out the game and get the speed of our play.

Disagree , Wilder has got it right Berge is the better technical footballer bring Lundy on for his speed and goal scoring when they’re knackered

Really? For me it's been

Palace - Lunny
Bournemouth - Berge
Brighton - Berge by a distance

At Bournemouth you do realise Berge was at fault for the goal and Lundstram came on for him scored the winner and played incredible?

When we played down the right kicking towards the Kop (which we always do, play down the left kicking towards BL) Berger looked a lot better because he had more than 5 touches. He needs time if he's going to play there. Lunny is probably better right this minute but it's close enough that we need to think about sticking with Berge. Lunny is a good impact sub as well

No grudge against McBurnie at all ,huffed and puffed ,wow.

Anyway Besic for me ,as Raul says Berge eventually but why change it if its not broke.

I thought apart from the goal Lundstram was really poor.

He played 20 minutes scored the winner and Berge who was at fault for the goal was better?

I like Berge and I think he will come good but so far it’s been a poor start.

After seeing Berge is his 3 games, I'm more certain than ever that he's not suited to the RCM role - he's simply not mobile or quick enough to do it.

I do however think he'd be great if played more defensively and centrally. However, that would mean replacing Norwood in the side or a change of formation, neither of which I would expect this season so expect him to vye with Lundstram for the remaining games.

The one I feel most sorry for however is Besic - he's done nothing wrong and done well whenever given a chance but now finds himself out of the 18.

This.

McBurnie played well but didn’t take his chances which will happen. The Berge situation is an interesting and nice problem to have. Lundstram did look knackered in December but now looks back at it. Berge is struggling to get with the pace. The class is there no doubt but playing in a new system, new team mates in a far higher tempo league he looks laboured at times. I’m not doubting his class and his passes down the line in the second half yesterday were good.

I actually agree that out of the options Besic has looked our best all round bet.
However, what a great position to be in with players fighting for places in the team? A squad with some depth. 6th in the Premier League. Fuck me these are golden times blades. All these players have a part to play. Norwood gets injured for instance, who fits in? Fleck likewise? We have great options now that we didn’t have before.

when subbed, Berge had run the most on the pitch bar Maupay,

opefully, they will get used to him.
It was very strange ,he made lots of runs and no fucker seemed to want to pass the ball to him.

Stop it with your facts! You're going to get in the way of a good old fashioned "writing off of a new player"! How many times do people need to get it badly wrong before they decide to just give players time before writing them off?

He scored the winner but was poor other than that. Berge's general game was better than Lundstram imo

The rumour doing the rounds yesterday was that Lunny wants £60k a week, the club have said no & there’s now a stand off.

No idea if there’s any truth at all in it, didn’t hear it from anybody close to the club, probably complete BS.

Being on the Hookers sponsored Kop,i missed the Maupay goal and how he scored it,( you know up and down more times than a hookers pants)

Watching the highlights it seems that Berge was marking Maupay in the six yard area and let him nip in front of him,so is that two goals Berge has cost us now.
