Always liked him. Obviously frustrating as hell as wasn’t consistently enough at the top of his game for us.

However - when he was on form and driving forward with the ball, swatting off 6ft defenders like flies it was an absolute joy to watch.

As impressive to watch as N’Diayes quick feet and snake hips.

Hope he gets a move somewhere. Massively weakens Burnley is he goes.

Speed in football terms, particularly in more congested central areas of the pitch, is less about pure sprinting in a straight line and more about acceleration and agility, tightness in the turn, and speed of thought/seeing things before they happen.

Berge might have the running power of an elite sprinter, but his time at United showed he was weaker in the other attributes associated with 'quick' midfielders.

Him, Ndiaye and MGW were an outrageous combination when Hecky used them as a front 3.

Biggest problem for me with Berge was his injury record. Much like Bogle plenty of time on the treatment table followed by quite a while to get back to form, rinse and repeat.

Yet when he played for us his 6ft 5 body only jumped 5ft 6

Hes played 74 games out of 84 in the last 2 seasons and was burnleys player of the year

Berge is a great player but miles behind Rodri, who is probably the best in the world at what he does. Very disappointed when he left though and still completely perplexed why anyone thought that selling him to Burnley was a good idea.
