He didnt get the ball much and was very lethargic, the game drifted by him. When he had the ball he kept it moving instead of panicking and losing it like some of their other players who tried to force the pass. Not awful but far from good. He looked like someone whos been thrown in the deep end against a very good team. I think this is a sideways move TBH.

I wasn’t impressed with burnley. Thought they would be more composed in possession, despite the oppo. They were very careless and panicked with the ball and other times really slow with it. A fair few new players though. I understand why Berge would want to play under kompany after last year but doubt Burnley will get many opportunities to play like that this season.

Can’t judge too much against city though.

All totally clueless 'premier league' fans on twitter laughing at commentators calling him 'burger' on commentary.

I find it utterly embarrassing that he's moved to Burnley and tells them his name is pronounced 'Berj' when he told us that was totally wrong.

Don't know why I should care now he's gone but i find it a bit pathetic just accepting someone pronouncing your name wrong from day one. I like the lad a lot but that's taking niceness to another level if you ask me.

I’ve watched his interview at the Burnley unveiling.
They call him Sanda Berj…..then ask how his name is pronounced.
He tells them in Norway….it’s Sander Berger (that’s what he told us too)
but he tells them he doesn’t mind what he‘s called…and says Berj is fine.

To be fair it’s not ever Berger (as in beef burger).
In Norway his name is pronounced in a Norwegian accent…so it’s Bearggh….h.

Some Burnley fans on twitter aren't taking too kindly to Blades pointing out that old Sander can be a bit nesh, much like tonight.

I don't get why Burnley are rated so highly, I notice 4-4-2 have predicted Burnley to finish 13th! Our key player identified as Sander Berge ironically! Presumably it's because they've got Kompany as manager. I may be wrong here but I'm yet to be convinced on him as a manager. He seems to think he can play like Man City can with Burnley players and they're going to get a very rude awakening if they try that. Hecky on the other hand lives in the real world and knows we're Sheff Utd and will play accordingly. Put it this way, I wouldn't swap Hecky for Kompany, no way.

Yeah exactly. When he signed for us he did say it was pronounced 'bear geh' but everyone that I know just called him Burger. In the cringeworthy Burnley announcement video he actually said it was pronounced 'Berj'.

Maybe I'm getting too worked up about it but if he was my son telling people to pronounce his name wrong I'd be pretty embarrassed.

Burnley weren't shit, at all to be honest.
Although City weren't at their best.
But, Sander is the complete opposite you need in a dog fight, and Burnley and us are going to be in a few dog fights this season.
He was none existent.

He is no loss compared to our No 29. Good now and again. I wish him well but he was nothing particularly special in my opinion. I my interested in what we have now. Can’t wait for tomorrow. A few pints and a Burger !!

Can't believe they started him

Brownhill on the bench - WTF? Am I missing something? He played in the last friendly

It's Burnley's turn to buy into the Sander Berge myth. They'll feel obliged to start him a lot, and hopefully it costs them points
Send ‘em some bingo cards - they’re gonna need them.

I have a surname that that can be pronounced multiple different ways, and to be honest, I genuinely don’t give a shit how it's pronounced. I will use different pronunciations myself sometimes depending on context.

Fair play mate. Maybe I'm looking into it too much I suppose. Anyway much prefer saying Hamer now!

I’m a Berge fan obviously, and while I have put accept his inconsistency, he has at times, been a joy to watch. (I honestly believed PH would improve him, and find his best position).
Whatever the reasoning and circumstances, I have to apply the same good grace and manners that follow N’Diaye to OM, and Hamer from Coventry.

Thank you and goodbye. GLTTLs

Seemed like a lovely guy but I often walked out of matches feeling really disappointed with his contribution. Knowing what he is capable of, made it worse because he rarely grabbed a game by the scruff of the neck and made a difference.

Selling a guy in the last year of his contract (and refusing to sign a new one) and replacing him with Hamer is a fantastic piece of business by the club.

Having suffered through the McCabe years it's even sweeter because he would have flogged him last year, missed out on promotion and revealed that his replacement was already at the club. 😄

You can stop apologizing for him now.

He is this generation’s South Stand, an expensive mistake.

He is the product of looking at Data, rather than watching him play.

Data says, 6,5, strong, quick, good first touch, good passing range, eye for goal. Potential world beater

Watching him play says Nesh

Out of possession, alway 5 yard behind play, never gets close to his man, never puts in a block.

Worst header of a ball I have ever seen, at professional level

In possession will 95% of the time defer to others, to make the hard pass or take on a man

Finally and the one I found most perplexing, he did not like the cold. If it was a cold wet away game, you could guarantee he would go missing. I lost count the number of times I would have to check the team sheet after 20mins to make sure he playing

Over the 3 and a half season he put together a lot of great moments.

But he never put together a great game.
