Does 'have to play' mean starts or does it include off the bench in these agreements?
That's probably the parent clubs discretion too.
It's weird, if you think you have a future star, even if he's a kid and has a lot to learn still you must have confidence that he will get game time in a championship team of his own merit.
Either way he's a player I really think we need this season! I'd push the boat out to get him. He's different to what we already have.

No idea to be honest. Hopefully it adds up to be the same if you have to pay a smaller loan fee and more if he does pay compared to playing another club a bigger fee upfront

I believe it basically means he's first choice for the position. Doesn't have to play every game but starts most games. Considering Duffy or Brooks didn't start every game, it's not somewhere we're likely to go.

Wilder asked a two-part question on him and on Coutts’s return, only chose to answer the Coutts part.

Apparently he smiled and gave a thumbs up at the end of that answer, presumably about Woodburn.

In any case, I hope we don't sign Woodburn before we know whether we can get Luke Freeman or not.

Don’t thing the thumbs up had anything to do with the question

VILLA WANT WOODBURN

Aston Villa want to sign Liverpoolmidfielder Ben Woodburn on a season long loan, according to Sky sources.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the player but also thinks a season at the right club would help his development.

Villa aren't the only club interested in Woodburn, Sky Sports News understand Sheffield United are keen while an approach from Wigan was rejected.

SSN - didn't know Wigan were rejected.

Don't think Woodburn will go to Villa unless Grealish is sold. So if Spurs don't buy Grealish, Villa won't get Woodburn, and we might have a chance by default. It's like if Leeds don't buy Vydra, Debry won't buy Waghorn, and we might have a chance there too.

We've got what you might call a "sloppy seconds" transfer policy.

Jonny on the spot?

Just read on twitter Woodburn to Villa is "all but done".

I thought Villa had constraints?

Their wage bill must be ridiculous?

Ryan Woods to Villa is a great signing and a huge blow to Brentford if the source has any credentials

EFL have given them the all-clear. Something to do with ownership change, another year of parachute payments plus £20m+ insurance money if they decide to offload Grealish. They've still got a few cards to play unfortunately.

Thanks, I didn’t know that. I’d love to know how they’ve wrangled it?

No backhanders I take it?

20180730_214708.jpg fuck sake. I really wish someone would throw an embargo their way.

I know they are allowed a bit of leeway because of the change of ownership but to allow them to sign more players actually stinks. Especially when it looks like they are going on a spree

I'll be more annoyed if they get Woods than Woodburn.

They shouldn't be able to permanently sign a player like him in their situation. If they run riot in the transfer market yet again it'll be an absolute piss take.

Don't worry.

It will take them half a season to gel and next year their screwed.

Nah, don't think they've got a Brooking-like character in the shadows. They're a club I find difficult to get het up about if I'm honest.
