If we're to spend a decent fee or two, Maddison is a stand out candidate. Realistic, not overly expensive and potentially a big asset and a difference maker. Also plays in positions we still need to strengthen.

To me though it looks more likely that any bigger fees we spend will be on a CB and/or a striker.

I think so. Everything he posts will have a good foundation, although obviously not everything will come off, because things change constantly in football.

He's always been the one I wanted us to sign as an attacking mid. He got more assists last season than anyone. He's still only 23 and can also take a mean free kick. Problem is he'd probably cost over a million and if we're baulking at GMS at a reported £750,000 then I'm not sure we'd got for Maddison. Maybe Wilder just didn't want to commit a transfer fee for GMS, who knows. Reeves seems a decent shout to be fair. Then there's Otzumer but we've not really been linked with him. Morgan from St Mirren was another.

Could this be back on the agenda?

We've not signed Holmes or Carey, Mackay-Steven is going to Aberdeen on loan and Reeves still hasn't got a club.

I read on Twitter (i know) that the player is to decide between ourselves and Bolton.
 
Did read that he hadn't travelled with the mk squad which suggest a move could be on the cards.

Might fancy linking up with caruthers and baldock again.

Right age and no fee - plenty of positives.
 
Could do a lot worse than Ben Reeves. A very good technical player. If we get him for nowt then I would think he would be a very cute signing by Mr Wilder.
 

I'd be a lot happier with this than spending on someone that potentially blocks Brooks progression.

That said let's just all chill a little about the kid and give him time... You'll break him otherwise.

He does remind me of this chap though. Ugly bugger isn't he?! Reeves that is, not the great Beaker.

Still, if Reeves signs and he does well, he can look like he hit every branch of the ugly tree on the way down for all I care.
 
Would be a good signing on a free, would add good competition for the attacking midfield spot with Duffy, Carruthers, Brooks etc so I hope we bring him in.

I have heard that Utd have been looking at this lad for a while.

He is out of contract and is available on a 'free' (no such things as free transfers I know with signing on and agents fees) and wouldnt be on a kings ransom in wages either whilst at MK would mean he should be very attainable.

If u listen to the plastic fans they would probably all tell you that Reeves was up there with being their best player...even when they had Carruthers and Baldock there too. Chuck in the fact that he has the afore mentioned as ex team members and it all seems to look like this could be like my young missus on a hot summers Saturday night after I've plied her with too much cheap red wine i.e 'a bit of a goer'.
 
Intrigued to why he hasn't been picked up as yet. Bit meh for me though and another squad filler.

I would say its far more likely that Brooks emergence has resulted in the need for another attacking mid to be redundant as we have Thomas, Carrurthers, Duffy and Brooks
