I honestly don’t know much about this kid. From what I’ve seen Forest fans don’t rate him particularly high?

I'm just glad it's not that annoying ginger haired twat who plays for Forest, that who I thought we were after, like you I have no idea about him

£5m is a decent amount for a 24 year old. Germimsnappedup

He was voted their player of the season (17/18) and from what I have read he was used in a variety of different positions last season. Maybe the constant reshuffling wasn't good for his game?

I am looking forward to him coming tbh, quick and has a good engine

Why does Nixon use the handle reluctantnicko?

Because he's reluctant to be truthful or admit he doesn't know?

No idea but he's got the face on because someone has set up another Twitter account which is like-for-like that of Nixon's.

Mardy twat 😄

I think Fudson puts 'reluctant' because he's too cool and elite to go on Twitter but his employer forced him to, to help sell some bits of paper.

That is a lot of money for him with a year left on his contract.

I've been thinking this for ages... how are people commanding such fees for players in the last year of their contracts? Same with Robinson. Set aside for one moment that I think either will prove value for money - I seem to have missed when the narrative changed about people getting let go ridiculously cheap in their final year (vs. nothing at the end of their contract). Or has that always just been our negotiators extraordinaire?

It's just part of the madness.

But at least you still get them cheaper. And they're worth more the second they sign the contract. Just got to look at it like that.

I think fewer people are letting their contracts run out who don’t know they’d definitely be getting a huge payday.

Robinson banked 800k minimum just from the fee alone on top of an upgraded contract. Many players will sign new deals just to move on to make more money. You have too, you might only get 1/2 moves worthy of anything in your career if you’re lucky. A huge lump of money to put aside for what is a very very long retirement

Nottingham Live makes ref to Duffy a potential target to Florest at £4.5m today. Can't be bothered to hunt link again.

I guess that's the market we're in these days... who'd have thought we'd be lavishing £5m on a utility player who'll presumably sign as a squad player? Still expecting to wake up and see that we've won a player for the value of £250,000 courtesy of a Coca Cola fan prize...

Ignore my previous post. Must have dreamt it o_O

Doing some reyt deals this year.

To me - even if we don’t stay up. And id back wilder to keep us up.

We are at least using the PL windfall to drastically reduce the squad age (jags excepted) and future proof the team.

Freeman is 5/6 years younger than Duffy.

Any New strikers would be 7/8 years younger than billy, Leon and mcgoldrick

Morrison and Robinson are much younger than say Holmes.

Osborn is another long term asset.

We are starting to develop a spine for the next few years rather than being towards the end of a cycle - exciting times

If only Robson and Blackwell had worked this way.

Burnley took the same approach, got relegated and were immediately promoted back. They used the second wave of PL money for 'bigger' signings and are now reaping the rewards of clever, prudent planning by a top manager.
