it would seem as many have expressed on here a 3 5 2 would be the best, as it would be 3 5 2 in attack and 5 3 2 in defence, a system we have the players to use in, leaves barry and the other wingers a bit out in the cold but solves so many other issues with the playing staff we have and how we set up.
I think we also could do with Djibril Soumare in place of Matos in the mid three, seems that we could go Soumare, Pack and in a free role Hamer or O'Hare, with either Cannon and Campbell, or Ings and and Maybe Cannon, see if we could get him to actually do the job he has for clubs previously.
at the back Mee in the center flanked by Tanganga and either Zatterstrom or McGuinness or Godfrey

Be very surprised if Mee doesn't start with Tanganga on the weekend, for 2 reasons, 1 experience and 2 he is light years in front of Mcguiness, Bindon etc.
Keep seeing change of formation mentioned but I don't think we have the players to play 3-5-2, not sure we have a wing back in the club, other than Seriki maybe. Ogebene is barely a winger and will never ever be a wing back, neither is Mccallum and I think Burrows would get slaughtered in the position. We also don't have anyone to really play LCB as you ideally want a mobile left footer.
But you can play whatever shape you want , when you're top end championship players are all completely shot of confidence and the recruitment has been panicked, rushed and frankly in the main hideous, it ain't a good recipe.

Definitely not a RWB, with his pace, I have said on other posts, I don't see any harm with playing him in a front 2, especially against the "weaker" (who) opposition. He has a hell of a lot of pace and although 5'11 he is rapid and reads play.

These are the goals he scored for Rotherham in the Championship below, the goal against Burnley is quality, amazingly for a player his size he scored a lot of headers and poacher type goals.

I’d have him up front over Campbell or Cannon right now, but then again I’d take one of the training dummies from Shirecliffe over those two empty shirts.

Saw a couple of Rotherham games when he played up top and did very well. Nuisance.

Got to remember Wilder plays his favourites, which is why Holding hardly ever got a look in over JLT last season, despite being a vastly superior footballer.

Ergo Peck doesn't get dropped.

We have got promoted the last two times playing 3 at the back.

We should accept we are better with that and have done.

We don’t have any amazing wingers despite the efforts to bring some in. No player who is classed as a winger is undroppable.

Mee can be the Championship Jake Wright.

Hamer can be the Championship Mark Duffy.

Burrows and Seriki are far more suited to wing back.

Tanganga, Godfrey and Zatterstrom can all benefit from playing in a three and playing next to Mee. McGuinnes can probably do better if Mee plays on the left of him.

Then maybe Ings and Cannon would both be players who are better in a two. Maybe Ogbene could play off a striker like McGoldrick? Maybe you could play O’Hare and Hamer as two 10s with the sufficient support from behind.

Key might be getting Davies for and resting Peck.

Either way I much rather have 3-4-1-2 or 3-4-2-1 than 4-2-3-1 with the current defensive options.

Yes I agree about Peck, he works his arse off but he never seeks to break the defensive lines with a forward pass. Although Soumare’s footballing prowess has been amplified by merely sitting on the bench, I think he’s well worth a try against Oxford.
Amplified is a good way of putting it - we just don’t know the reality do we ?

We have to give him a go
