True, i was in a long queue at Tesco earlier. Some fat fucker was in my way and i struggled to get past him.

If you know, you know…stress levels off the scale!
Fair comment. Why did Doyle persist in drilling 4 successive corners to the near post at shoulder height?
Thought he had a good game generally and our equaliser did come from a corner he hit better and higher but irrespective as to the condition of Shirecliffe it dosen't affect practicing dead ball situations.

His aim is to get it as close to the keeper/the goalline as possible. Basically trying to score direct each time.

Well thankfully he stopped banging his head on a brick wall and mixed it up.

They are the most effective in terms of goal scoring opportunities, but conversely the hardest to get right. I guess I’d rather we play percentages and get it in the mixer away from the keeper and see where it lands

I tend to get very irate when a Blades player can’t beat the first man either from a set piece or with a moving ball. But, having watched a fair bit of Champions League games the past few weeks there must be a pandemic because the general standard of crossing is very average.

He didn't get them in the mix. They didn't beat the first man.

It is almost as if all clubs have researched where the most dangerous place to deliver a cross into is, and that getting it there requires placing it fairly close to the first man. You can deliver a ball that beats the first man more often, but good luck doing that in such a way that is both not trivial to clear and delivered into a location where the attacker has a reasonable chance to score

Because all we had was a lot of midgets in the middle against their giants ( so near post looking for a flick on )
That doesn’t excuse why we played hoof down the middle for most of the game
If we are playing that way at least put it in the channels ffs

We didn't though. The 4 consecutive corners I refer to were with Anel, McB, and Egan all gagging for a ball to challenge.

All of those corners caused absolute carnage. They were very dangerous corners.

Why do you think we had 4 successive ones?
Well given I watched them with great interest from the BLUT I can tell you.
It was because a defender got his head on each one and put the ball out for another. As I posted a little earlier it was when Doyle put one in that actually caused concern amongst the defence that we equalised. Any more questions?

And why do you think they headed them over their own goal if they were so easy to defend?

It was the same corner. The GK punched it out from near post which resulted in a goal.
They were 4 planned corners. Very hard to defend when it's not quite head height at your near post

Because they went safety first as they should. I repeat. When Doyle upped the quality of his delivery we scored.

No it wasn't it was the 5th.

Ndiaye was stood in acres at the edge of the box and he put 4 straight at the front post. We scored though so maybe he was right 🤷🏻‍♂️

This is getting silly now. Yes, you're bang right. There were several occaisins where a flat ball to the edge of the box would have given the opportuniy for a great strike. as it happened that's how we equalised albeit not rehearsed. Maybe it's time to put this to bed. Love the genuine debate. Not keen on the all too often gobby billy big trousers who think post counts make them spekal. They are. But not in the way they think.

I’ve not read the rest of the thread. Couldn’t be arsed coming on here until tonight.

I moan like mad when we cock up a pull back and they score but they had 9 men today so couldn’t have got out to the edge of the box quick enough to close the shot and mark us at the same time.

Am I the spekal one?

I thought I was offering a genuine debate. It was clear we were going round I circles, so I decided to call it a night.
