A year ago Fulham fans thought their dreams had come true, FFW one year (+£100M) later, hands on head, mega depressed, back to where they started, some may say richer, although fuckin poorer cos the heart of their original squad was ditched to accommodate the failing foreign signings. We blades are on the threshold of a similar scenario, win tommorow, fantastic, you can please ignore this post. Lose? Can't see our management team doing that though. So IF we went up, and then came down again I'd hope we'd still have a group tight enough to yoyo back up again using parachute payments as required to bolster it.

It isn’t that Fulham spent too much money, the problem was they spent it on the wrong players and didn’t have the necessary team spirit.

We need to get promoted first - then hope someone capable of investing what is needed takes over and that money is spent on the right players.

Whatever happens afterwards, surely everyone wants Utd to have a crack in the Prem. The seemingly never ending days in L1 and some horrific games & results (Gillingham, Crewe, Stevenage etc.) seem a long time ago now.

If Utd do make it, I'm sure CW & co will recruit a lot wiser than Fulham did.

Fulham have spent more than any other newly promoted team (might be play-off winners, but it's up there with the biggest spending). They've failed.

They're disappointed because they're coming back down, not because they went up.

There's every reason NOT to have a marquee signing buddy. We don't have any 'stars' and that's the key to our success, in my opinion.

Maupay would no longer constitute a marquee signing. He’s exactly the type of player we should be linked with and able to attract. I think that’s the way forward for us. Sign the best players from our championship rivals, much like we tried to do with promotion from league one

I would give the majority of the current first team a crack at the Prem. They deserve it , & might surprise quite a few people. We don't want to destroy the fantastic spirit we have in the group .One thing is certain , Wilder wouldn't be bringing a load of expensive foreigners in.

IF we are promoted then the best strategy would be to replace some of the older players with some young players with great potential.

Players like McBurnie and James at Swansea and as others have said Maupay. At least if we went down there is a decent chance they would stay and give their all in the Championship or they can be sold for a decent profit if they have a good Premier League season.
