Is he not a free agent already. I can see the club sacking him
He has a year left on his contract.

With all the talk of rehabilitation when they tried to get Ched back be very difficult to sack him.

Be another shit storm on twitter for the club to have to deal with.

'helping hand for a rapist but nowt for a line of coke'

Two wrongs don't make a right. The club should have sacked Evans immediately after the verdict, and if this turns out to be true then they should bin Baxter off too.

Why should we? I'm sick of the likes of Charlie Webster sticking their noses in team matters.

Do what is best for the team and screw everyone else and their morals! Where has it got us? Still in League fucking One!

When the Chelsea player got caught the club sued him we should do the same to Baxter if it is proven he has been naughty, no sympathy for any druggie. Mind you looking at some of the games, no most of the games last season some fucker has supplied the whole team with drugs but definitely not speed.

:D:D:D:D

The only time the word Ecstasy has been included in in any thread as with regards to this squad

Some issues are more import than Sheffield United or football.

Sorry, are we FIFA? UEFA? The FA? The Football League? We play by the rules and don't make them.

If it's such a big issue, like the clowns that run the game sort it out and we should just sign any player that is eligible to sign for Sheffield United.

I sat a yard from Kenny at Rossi's a couple of weeks ago, he looked in very good shape.

Paddy Kenny could do a good job in league 1 . What we don't need is somebody coming in just for the wages . There must be some bad blood at the lane between how Kenny left , after the club supported him , paid him , through his ban . McCabe does seem to never forgive and forget . However does this affect a Clough decision , i think not.

Are you having a laugh? Not learned anything after other 'incidents'? Let's not forget Kenny was only cough medicine, and look what a situation that turned in to... If Baxter is found guilty of snorting coke whilst a player as SUFC he should be out of the door in a nanosecond and we should be pleased we won't have to pay his contract up.

QPR didn't care when Kenny helped them win promotion after he returned from his ban.

Are people not allowed second chances? Until we know the full details it's hard to comment, but if the rumours are true, I don't see why we should get rid of a decent League One player because some people think we should on moral grounds.

Maybe everyone should cancel Sky because Merson works for them?

Its not a moral issue for me. Let he is is without sin etc. Appreciate that might not be a populist view.

For me, Its an issue of his faiure to honour his responsibility to look after his body. That is, after all, what the club employ him for.

wait and see how this plays out before the book is thrown at him. Whilst he protests innocence he deserves a fair crack at proving thus.

Ched should have been sacked because he was a convicted rapist and had given evidence that he had a misogynistice attitude to women.
Jose has taken a pill. Unprofessional certainly, irresponsible definitely but in no way shape or form comparable to Evans.

There are 2 issues I have here, firstly I'm not advocating drug use anywhere never mind in professional sports, but if Baxter has knowingly taken some form of MDMA it highlights how stupid he is. "Cleaner" drugs leave the system in a matter of days hence why I suspect there is a higher level of Cocaine use in football than is ever going to be uncovered. If Baxter has used a drug that stays in the system for up to 28 days he's a top class moron as surely the chances of being tested are much higher in the 28 day period than in the 48 hours for cocaine and the like.

Secondly, if he's done this it's gross misconduct from a contractual point of view so he needs sacking straight away. I think there will be much more understanding from the fans if this happens for Baxter (10 goals a season) than in the case of Evans (35 goals a season). For me if it's gross misconduct you should be sacked no matter how important you are to the team but the money men forget about morals when £'s are involved. Again Baxter is in a position where he's a role model to kids and this behaviour is not what we should promote as a club.

Is there any wonder we can't get promoted when players are allegedly doing shit like this?

Allegedly.

This post could turn out to mean:

Is there any wonder we can't get promoted when players are doing shit like this?

or

Is there any wonder we can't get promoted when players are not doing shit like this?

depending on whether he's done it.

Or maybe more accurately depending on whether he's found to have done it - which is a different thing, either way (false positives or false negative).

.... Baxter is in a position where he's a role model to kids and this behaviour is not what we should promote as a club.

I've never bought into that "role model" bollocks aimed at sportsmen/women. Does that mean if you're not a highly paid footballer you don't have to be a role model? Do we excuse the behaviour of a plumber or electrician then: "ah, doesn't matter that kids might copy his mugging, raping, burgling, he's only a skilled tradesman..."

Surely, we're all bound by our collective legal and moral standards to be role models to kids?

Can't agree I'm afraid. As I said some issues are far more important and clubs need to stop hiding behind the Football authorities on issues like this. If he is found guilty the club needs to kick him out. Let the PFA sort things out for him not us.

Isn't this all getting a bit guilty-before-innocent, peasants-with-pitchforks lynch-mob-like?

He's tested positive, so he has a case to answer. At the moment he's proclaiming his innocence. Which I think is important. And it seems to me, as I've said elsewhere, he's either unlucky (spiked?) or desperate (can't or won't face what he's done).

Entertaining and indulging as it is to rush to judgment, isn't the fair and reasonable course of action to let him make his case?

peasants-revolting.jpg

And then lynch him.

When Baxter told his teammates he liked the odd disco biscuit every now and then, they obviously thought he was referring to these
